Michael Jennis Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 8, 2025.
Michael Jennis passed away on March 26, 2025, in Bradenton, Florida. He was born on November 6, 1956, in Sharon Hill, Pennsylvania.

A longtime resident of Anna Maria Island, Michael found solace and joy in being outdoors. The beach held a special place in his heart, offering him a sense of peace and spiritual connection

Michael had a deep love for animals, especially cats. His gentle care and quiet compassion were evident in the way he looked after them-offering shelter to strays and sharing his home with feline companions.

He found joy in music and sports-simple pleasures that added rhythm and lightness to his days. These interests served as a steady backdrop to his life, bringing moments of happiness and connection.

Michael's memory remains like footprints in the sand-softened by time but never washed away. May his spirit rest beside the waves he so dearly loved.

Let his memory bring comfort to those who knew him and peace in the knowledge that he is at rest.

Michael Jennis is survived by his children, Ariel (Ian) and Kayla (James); his grandchildren, Charles and Madeline; and his sister, Stephanie; and many loving relatives and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held on April 24th at 11am at Roser Memorial Community Church.

Mike and I were friends since working together at the Holiday Inn on Longboat Key in 1979. He was always great to be with laughing and smiling so much. It was a huge joy in his life to have daughters and then grandchildren. Over the more recent years the Christmas CDs he made were really special and wonderful to listen to year after year. I´ll keep doing that and will hold him dear in my heart. Love to everyone who had the pleasure of knowing Mike and is missing him now.

We so loved Michael at Building 5 at Beachplace!! I enjoyed getting to know him over the last 6 years. He was a kind, humble and generous man - always with a smile and happy to see our family each time we would arrive. He will be dearly missed. He talked often about his incredible family and I just wanted you to know how much he loved you all so much!! May his memory be a blessing to all that had the pleasure of crossing his path. Kayla and Ariel , I am so sorry. I knew your dad very well years ago. We worked together and shared many wonderful times in the "old" days. He was a special friend and will be remembered fondly by anyone that crossed his path. I remember the day he told me twins were on the way! Your dad was so excited and happy! He loved you dearly. He introduced me to so many different types of books and had a wonderful sense of humor along with a sensitive. Your dad will be missed. May you both find peace in knowing how much he was cared about by the Island. Blessings- Susan

For 32 years Mike you were my dear cats/squirrels buddy neighbor. We bonded over our deep love for animals. We helped each other whenever needed. Since you left, the neighborhood is not the same. But now you are at peace, pain free, surrounded by the ones you loved and by Zeusie, Rubberdubbedubbe, Tweedy, Titus, Biggy and all the furry companions that you loved and loved you. I can see you smiling with one or two purring on your lap. Mike, I am glad you were part of my life. You will be remembered with fondnest. Snoopy G.

Mike will be sorely missed by everyone that was fortunate enough to know him! He was a kind and gentle soul who loved his family so very much. Whenever we crossed paths, he would speak endlessly about his daughters and grandchildren. His pride of his beautiful family was so evident! I regret that I am out of town and won't be back to attend his memorial, but I will most definitely be there in spirit! I am so grateful I got to see Mike one last time before he passed. He always brought a smile to my face......such a special man indeed!!!
