Of course I didn´t know Michael but from what I have read He was a Well Respected and Respectful Young Man (just like my late husband) and like you Tykia I was a Young Widow also with 2 children and 2 bonus children. It´s been 14yrs since Michael completed his assignment and now resting in the arms of the Lord. Now it´s time to Continue to Celebrate what he has given you and your children and family.

I was watching Lauren Lake and saw the episode featuring his widow. It resonated with me because my dad was a firefighter for the city of Atlanta. Sending love and and prayers to his wife, children and family ❤

I learned of his story on paternity court. I was so moved by this tragedy. Clearly he was a very selfless man and a very loving father. God is pleased with his sacrifice. I pray Mrs Jones is continually blessed, strengthened and at peace as she has had to navigate life without him. I pray you were able to identify your dad and have been able to create wonderful, loving memories with him. God bless you ma´am.

A true hero. God needed another angel

I also just learned of this on Television. I will visit the memorial site when I come to the area. I just wanted to show appreciation for Michael Jones service and to give my condolences to his family.

Michael Jones was a wonderful young man. I met Mike when I first started working at Lowe's and that was more than a year ago. He was such a brilliant man. He always had a caring word to say. When I came to work sick or just unhappy he would always say something to cheer me up or brighten my day. I would always thank him for that. Mike will definitely be missed. To the family hold your heads up everything will be alright a brighter day is ahead.

My last reflection of Mr. Jones is when he would pick Jarell up from the After School Program at Morgan Elementary School and Jarell would walk in the office and the smile that would over take both of their faces and as they would leave Mr Jones would ask, "How was your day?" Mr.Jones' love for children will always be remembered. May you find comfort in knowing that God is the source of your strength. Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not to your own understanding. Acknowledge Him and he will direct your path.

To the Jones family, this is such a tragic but know that God do not make mistakes. God needed another Angel and Michael was the chosen one. God will not put more on you than you can bare so stay prayful and lean on God unchanginging hands. The pain of losing Michael will never go away but with time you will be able to find peace within yourself. Hold on to the memories and know that Michael has received his wings. He would want his family to be happy so just take one day at a time. Miss him but let him go because he is now with our Lord and Savior. I shop at Lowes a lot and Michael would always help me with anything that i could not find myself. I did not know him personally but i felt like i did because of my first impression of him when i first met him in Lowes. He was such a mannerable and nice young man. Michael was one of my former students. I am shocked at the news of his death. I saw him a couple of weeks ago and he reminded me of his name. Michael died a hero and he will be greatly missed!!

My heart goes out to each and everyone of you whose life was touched by such a remarkable young man. The sacrifice he made while saving others tells us all what kind of young man he was. As parents, brothers, sisters, cousins, aunts, uncles and fellow co-workers gather together to remember his life, please know that there are so many whose lives have been touched by the choice that this young man made. How grateful we are that men and women choose the field of public safety, the sacrifice that the families often make is just one of the many. You as parents set the example for Michael to follow and instilled in him as he grew the love to serve others. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart. As a 911 dispatcher, we are part of a huge family that is held together by the desire to serve and serve we do. We never know what a day will bring or how a call will end. Our goal is to make sure that every person that we work with gets thru a day of work so they can make it home to their families. Being a member of public safety is not just a Monday thru Friday job. It is a 24 hour a day job, 7 days a weeks, 52 weeks a year for no time limit. How blessed we are as citizens to have people like Michael who are so dedicated to serve. As you go thru these days and the days to come, please know that Michael has touched so many lives and how blessed you have been to have him as a part of your lives and how blessed we have been to have him in ours.
