Michael "Mike" Karbo

Dear Karbo family: I was a Benilde student from 1957 to 1961. Never an athlete, I always enjoyed seeing my classmates perform under Coach Karbo. My personal biggest thrill was in early 1960 when the Benilde basketball team defeated De La Salle in De's brand new gym to win the Regional Championship and go on to the Catholic High School State Tournament. Coach Karbo outcoached rival De and stunned the crowd.

To the family of Mike
My regards to the family. I lived many years next to his mother and thought so much of her. Thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.

Mrs. Karbo & Family: I played two sports for Mike each year at Benilde 1958-62. He was a terrific coach, teacher and man. We had lunch in Mpls. 5 years ago, first I had seen of him since 1962.When he wasn't talking about elk, we shared many wonderful stories. My best wishes to you.
