I just came across this and was saddened to hear he not only battled cancer, but passed on. I lived in JC 19 years ago and as an employee (RN) of mountain states hospital, I came to know of him and went to all day firearms training class with several colleagues. What a wonderful compassionate teacher he was. I still carry the lessons I learned from him with me to this day, now that I´m retired and live near fall branch. May he forever be fondly remembered by all whose lives he touched and be in the heavens in the loving arms of our lord .

I had the privilege of working for Mike and his father from 1998 til the dealership was sold as a salesperson after I retired from Eastman Chemical Company. Mike always took time to say hello when he entered the dealership. I had been a customer of Tennessee Motors for a long time and I remember my wife and I traded for a new 1989 Ford Thunderbird, the first one that arrived at the dealership, and Mike and his dad were sitting in the front seats talking about the new arrivals. My salesperson, Charlie Ervin, had to ask them to exit the Tbird because he had just sold it. It was just before Christmas and my wife asked Mike if she could have the big red bow that was on top of the car and he graciously said of course! Mike was always a generous and kind person and will be greatly missed by everyone that worked for him and everyone that knew him! Rest in peace Mike, you deserve it! Phil and Dianne Sells
