MICHAEL
On February 14, 2013, Michael, age 96 years, formerly of Brookline. Beloved husband of the late Lilian (Truka) Kostek; loving father of Richard of Selinsgrove, PA. Michael was born December 27, 1916, to the late Paul Kostek and Rose Koralovitz Kostek. Brother of Mary Gunning and Olga Walko and the late Anna Palashoff, Sophie Reft, and Nick "Coach" Kostek. Survived by his guardian angel David Sawczak and good friend Richie Sawczak. Also survived by other numerous nieces and nephews. Friends received Sunday 2-8 p.m. at the JOHN J. GMITER FUNERAL HOME, 119 S. 15th St. South Side. Funeral prayer Monday 10 a.m. followed by funeral liturgy in St. John the Baptist UKR. Catholic Church at 11 a.m. Parastas Sunday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. Michael was a graduate of Duquesne University School of Business. In lieu of flowers family suggests contributions to St. John the Baptist Roof Fund, St. John Stewardship Council in care of Ukrainian self-reliance of Western PA, Federal Credit Union 95 So. 7th St. Pittsburgh, 15203.

Our prayers go out to the Kostek family. Even though all the brothers and sisters of the Walko family are now gone, their children knew the Kostek name and remember the family. We are deeply sorry for your loss. My mother was Stella Walko Grabek.
