Michael Kraatz Obituary
He was born August 25, 1971 in Houston, Texas to parents Gary Kraatz and Nila Trygstad Kraatz. Michael was a loving partner, father, son, brother, cousin and friend that will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved him. Mike (Bubba) Kraatz was larger than life.He loved being a father to Shawn the most. His hobbies were, but not limited to; hunting, fishing, fast cars, guns, cold beer and friends & family. He was a master at his craft, becoming a master machinist for the last 5 years, mastering and sharing those skills at GE Oil and Gas. Mike loved life, and he lived it to the fullest everyday. He loved to put a smile on people's faces. He had a heart of gold and was always willing to give a helping hand; even in his final hours he was able to help two people with the donating of his organs. Please know Mike (Bubba) that you are loved and you will be missed dearly.
He is survived by his life partner Abbey Acheson; son Shawn Kraatz and his mother Tiffany; father Gary Kraatz and his wife Virginia; sister Sheree DuPratt and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of friends. Michael is preceded in death by his mother Nila Kraatz.
The family will receive friends for visitation Friday, September 8, 2017 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the Family Chapel at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039. A funeral service will be held Friday, September 8, 2017 at 2:00pm in the Family Chapel at Brookside Funeral Home.

Sheree, we are so sorry for the loss of your brother. I loved hearing the stories of when you and your brother were little and see your eyes light up. We hope the memories of all the happy times and the special love and bond that you had with him will comfort you in the days to come. I know that you will share the special memories with Shawn so he remembers what a truly remarkable Dad, brother and son Bubba was. We love you and you are in our hearts and prayers, Carlo, Ang, Mom, Ellen, Pat and Jonathan
