Michael C. Lake, Sr.

Michael C. Lake Sr., age 68, of Abington, died peacefully on March 12, 2024, in the loving comfort of his family. Michael was born in Weymouth to the late Charles J. Lake and Evelyn (Frisbie) Lake. Raised and educated in Weymouth, he played youth baseball and hockey, and played hockey for Weymouth High School and Quincy College. He was a graduate of Northeastern University in Boston.

Michael worked for many years at Fidelity Investments in Boston. He was an avid sports fan and coached his sons in Weymouth Youth Baseball, Hockey and Soccer. He also coached and played softball. He enjoyed swimming with his family and friends at Nantasket Beach, Cahoon Hollow on Cape Cod and Florida beaches. Michael befriended everyone he met. As much as he liked having a good time, he loved making sure others were having a good time as well. He also loved and cared for dogs all his life.

Beloved husband of 42 years of Karen (Verney) Lake. Devoted father to Michael C. Lake, Jr. and his wife, Maureen McManus, Christopher R. Lake and his wife, Jessica Hauck. Loving grandfather to Oliver, Nora, Maxwell and Evelyn. Dear brother-in-law to Richard Verney, Jr. and his wife Lee Ann, Robert Verney and his wife Cheryl, Paula Hardiman and her husband Jack, and Sue Verney. Michael is also survived by nieces and nephews and their families and many, many friends. He will be missed every day.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Wednesday 11 AM - 12 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). A celebration of life will be celebrated on Wednesday at 12 PM in McDonald Keohane Funeral Home.
