I got to know Michael in a professional capacity at Northern Stage in Vermont. He advised on a musical-in-development that I was a part of. He regularly offered thoughtful, supportive, specific, helpful and kind feedback, which allowed the piece to grow and expand. My favorite memories of him though were when I would call the Northern Stage Box Office to inquire about an upcoming show - his voice, oh, his voice - I loved to hear him talk, and would tell him this each time I called. He had warmth, depth, and joy in his voice...I think he could have read a train schedule to me and it would have made me smile and feel comfort. The news of his passing has both shocked and truly saddened me...and I am grateful for the moments we were able to share together. I offer my sincerest condolences to his twin sisters and to his extended family.

Taken from us FAR TOO SOON, Michael was someone who lives on in our hearts and makes you believe that angels are often right beside us. Michael's talents were many and his heart huge. Back at Northern Stage he gently offered to help me with my musical and stuck by (through many a zoom) for nearly FOUR years. Our next performance will be dedicated to him.
I like to think that Michael hears all the love that pours out for him at this time. And the condolences sent to his family from near and far intended to comfort far into the future.
Sharing deepest sympathy and love. ~Joy

I was so fortunate to know the triplets at WRA. Michael was a ray of sunshine and lit up any room he walked into. The sibling bond was strong and I remember the three of them working together in the Long House common room to prepare for the Junior Writing exam. Michael was such a gentelman and so wise beyond his years. I loved his smile and his generosity towards others. I am devastated by your loss and will be holding you all close in my thoughts and prayers. I am sorry I will not be able to wrap you in my arms in Kent in Ohio in June. Sending love and prayers to the entire Nichols family from the WRA family.

Back in Dhahran Middle School, I remember thinking, "he's a little too energetic to be Charlie Brown" (he still knocked it out of the park). Back then, I remember being a shy shy kid. Yet, one of the fondest memories I have back then was spending recess chilling with Michael and his family in the Library side labs just talking. I couldn't tell you what about, but all I remember was always having a good time. I think he was one of the first people to start help me break out of my shell and for that I am so grateful. He was always so welcoming, always so energetic, and just a great friend. I never felt like he was judgmental, and if he was, which I know he wasn't, he was a damn good actor. I hope he rests well knowing the positive effect he had on people's lives. Rest in Peace, Michael, you will be missed.

Growing up with the Nichols family in Saudi Arabia was truly a blessing. I have so many cherished memories of spending time with Alena, Sophie, and Michael. I feel incredibly grateful to have called such kind and genuine people my friends.
Michael was one of the most selfless and thoughtful people I´ve ever known. I still remember how comforting it was to find out he would be at FSU the same time I was - it meant so much to know a friend would be close by. True to his character, Michael went out of his way to help me move in when I first arrived. That simple act of kindness has always stayed with me.
I already miss Michael deeply. But I find hope in knowing he is with God in heaven, and I pray that brings comfort to everyone who loved him. Nichols family, you are in my prayers. I hope you feel God's presence surrounding you during this time and always..

He made everyone feel welcome and comfortable around him, he was so creative, and so much fun to be around. I am so sorry to the Nichols family for your loss - my prayers are with Michael and your whole family during this difficult time. God Bless Him.

Sending hugs, love, and prayers to the entire Nichols family. In all my years of teaching I never had a more remarkable human being enter the classroom. Michael´s immediate impact came in various forms; his infectious enthusiasm, warm smile, self-confidence, passion for life and learning, respect for others, high intellect, a relentless work ethic, and pure and unadulterated leadership. Michael´s presence always inspired me to be a better version of myself...his character, his life, his legacy, all defined by his profound effect on others...me being just one in a vast number of those who crossed paths with this exceptional young man. I love you Michael! God bless my friend.

Being much younger, I only had the pleasure of meeting Michael one summer at Dhahran Middle School but I remember him - and his two sisters - as being kind energetic leaders. So many years later and his character and demeanor still speak volumes to me. Rest easy.

I knew Michael from Dhahran Middle School and the Fellowship. I always enjoyed the opportunities I had to visit with him. He was such a thoughtful and caring guy. I was impressed with the insight and thought that he would put into a topic. We definitely lost a beautiful soul when Michael left this Earth to be with the Lord. My thoughts and prayers go to his entire family as they will grieve his absence. Much love- Kathryn

I was lucky enough to know Michael during our 4 years studying at FSU. Many people have said it already, but it really can't be overstated what a genuine, kind, fun, and special person he was. He was a great friend and I'm happy we knew each other. My deepest condolences go out to his family.
Attached are a couple of photos I still have of us in college, around 2016.

My first memory of the Nichols family is at the airport in Amsterdam heading to Saudi Arabia in 2006. Such beautiful smiling faces helped to make the 10 year journey we were about to embark on that much easier. The triplets were such sweet souls, all three of them. But remembering Michael, so earnest, so sincere, kind, funny, seeking and curious.
Rest in the arms of Jesus now, dear Michael.

I'm heartbroken to learn of such a bright light leaving this world much too soon. Michael was an absolute rock for me throughout high school; his kindness, insight, and thoughtfulness helped me more times and in more ways than he likely knows. I will always, always value his life-changing friendship. I hope that, even in the midst of this sorrow, those Michael left behind can feel the impact of the warmth and love he shared with so many. My parents, who also loved Michael, and I send our deepest condolences.

We have such wonderful memories of Michael! My fondest of when Scott and the triplets went to Dar Al Wahlad in Beirut on a mission trip. I woke very early one beautiful morning and went outside. I see Michael sitting on a wall reading his bible. It was such a wonderful, peaceful site. He was certainly filled with the Spirit at an early age. We hope you find peace in knowing he is with the Father. You are loved and prayed for. Blaine and Carol

Doug Seedorf here. I'm sitting and choking up remembering what a great kid Michael was. At a time when our oldest son was needing a friend, Michael was there. In a way, they were kindred spirits. Both artistic and slightly different than the kids around. Now I'm crying and it doesn't help that I'm drinking a glass of wine while thinking of the time spent, not only with Michael, but also with his sisters. All of you are in my heart and mind.

I was fortunate to share several summers with the Nichols klan. Sometimes late at night Mikey would come into my room and ask to read a book together. Of course he made up his own imaginative, nonsensical and heartfelt tales, with dramatic flare. So present with just this dear boy, cherished times. You are missed but in my heart always. Love and comfort of God to all.

I offer my deepest condolences to the entire family. I remember Michael fondly, and I distinctly recall meeting him for the first time. He had expressed an interest in philosophy, and I (as a teacher of philosophy) was asked to come in and speak with him about our program. The admissions folks said, "We really want him here!" That day I met an exceptionally intelligent, mature, and clearly kind-hearted young man. During his time at WRA, those early impressions were deepened and solidified. I count myself blessed to have had the opportunity to meet and come to know him.
