Hard to believe that it has been 11 years since Michael passed away.
His mother Ruth and I were chatting about this on the anniversary of his passing.
I think about Michael often.
This world would be a much better place if there were more people like Michael was.

We will always remember Michael from the weekends spent on the sidelines of soccer fields, and from trading kids back and forth for sleep overs and school events. He was such an upbeat, warm person. The entire Lytton family is in our thoughts daily.

Our hearts go out to all of you. Chris and Lydia send huge hugs to Rachel, but we have plenty left for Nathan and Tricia. Chris remembers Michael best: he is now a software engineer himself, and experienced a bit of camaraderie, validation and encouragement with a wonderful role model. Young people are fortunate when their lives cross paths with people like Michael, whose warmth, acceptance and positivity are enduring gifts.

Logged a lot of miles with Michael in high school x-country and many hours biking through the woods behind our neighborhood in Blacksburg. He was a great friend for many years. My thoughts go out to his family and his latest set of friends.

Michael was the sweetest of souls.
He possessed a brilliant mind, an adventurous spirit
and a humble demeanor, an extremely rare combination.
I always had great respect for Michael.
He dealt with physical challenges almost his whole life,
yet he always had a smile for his family.
Seems Michael learned early in his life to live every day to the fullest measure possible.
He understood the term “Carpe diem”.
I am sure he would have wanted all his family, to carry on that sacred measure of his legacy.
Clearly, his time came way too soon.
My wish is that he, Tricia, Rachel, Nathan and all his family can now find peace.
The picture shows Michael and Tricia and their young family,
Nathan and Rachel, with his mom, Ruth, sister, Lisa
and nephews Morgan and Joshua with dog Bailey,
on a visit to our home some years ago.

Michael - I will always remember out time on the water together. I see so much your spirit and personality in Rachel and Nathan, they are wonderful children. All of us who knew and loved you miss you dearly. I hope you are running or riding a motorcycle right now!

I'm saddened to hear this. I knew him as a kind, vibrant member of the writing group I attended in the late 90s and early 2000. My best to all who now grieve.

Mike was one of my running buddies back in High School and had a great sense of humor. He also lived nearby and he used to come run with me and a couple other guys from our neighborhood on weekends. We used to play follow the leader and ended up in a lot of weird places (quarries, storm drains, etc... trespassing has little or no meaning to high school students, and we were pretty harmless). That is how I'll always remember him... full of humor and adventure. He was a great guy to grow up with.

Two years ago, when I was at one of the lowest points of my life and was trying to turn my life around, I found out that Michael and I were both following the same spiritual path. Michael was a huge help to me by sharing his experience, strength and hope and helped me begin to get my life back together. Michael and I trudged the road of happy destiny together. He was my brother in the fellowship and I will miss him greatly.
The picture is a shot I took of Michael and his wife Trish on Michael's birthday last year.
