My Mike, my dear friend , my brother in Jesus..I never imagined Our Father would take you home to Him so soon. I'm sitting here listening to Christmas music re-living in my mind the precious times we shared not so many years past and Christmas was the best. The shows we did to-gether, the music and songs we performed to-gether and the many wonderful times I spent with your family who was my family too. My dearest Kathy , Jill , Ken and old Barnie . I still love you all and I wish you were here with me right now to sing with me again. You always said you have to live life full out to create great memories . You are one of mine-I miss you Mike. I'll see you soon....Merry Christmas.

I always enjoyed talking to Mike and feel his passion for the Lord. Mike often talked about his family and how he loved them. Mike had a servants heart and was very compassionate. Mike has left a legacy in the lives of so many of us!
He loved Youth For Christ becasue of the ministry of evangelism. Mike's life was all about telling others about His saviour Jesus.
To the family, our deepest sympathy to you. Our staff in Calgary and across Canada have you in their prayers.

I knew Mike as a brand new Realtor at CIR. I really enjoyed getting to know him. We had many interesting conversations. It was very evident to me that he loved The Lord and his family very much.

I have many good memories of Mike. From my teenage years, on the beaches of Florida, to Bible College, to his multi Media presentations throughout the country. Mike was a special guy. It won't be long and we will all be home with the Lord together. Take heart Kathy, you are being prayed for today and in the future. God is with you and your loved ones.

I met Mike several years ago when he joined CIR. He left for a little while to try to learn more about Real Estate, but when he was ready to come back we embraced him. I had many chats with Mike over the years and the one thing I learned about him and admired him for...was the way we loved his family. Kathy, I know you know how much he loved you. He spoke about you all the time and he worried more about your health and your sore knees than he did about his own illness. He worried about how hard it was for you each day standing at your job and tried to find ways to help you...because he loved you so much. He wanted to be a good provider so you could take the time you needed to get better too.
My thoughts and prayers are with you, your children and your grandchildren. I know he is at peace and I know he will be forever watching over all of you. Be strong and know that he loved you with all his heart.

Kathy and family,
My thoughts and prayers are with you during this time. You know better than anyone that Mike was a champion, committed to the end to blessing all those he came across. I have too many fond memories to list here, but I will always remember his determination to go forward with ministry both professionally and personally. He was so grateful to our Lord Jesus that he just had to share. He radiated the warmth and love that made you want to know more about him and his Lord.
I know exactly where he is right now, and he's definitely convinced the heavenly choir that loud cymbals are only the beginning of his contribution to that great place.

Sending prayers ..Mike was a classmate at Edith Cavell in Windsor and a guy who was a friend to everyone...always cutting up...even think detention was fun when He was there...and yes...He was there...drumming on His desk....always a smile. So I am sure Heaven has welcomed Mike with open arms... For the Joy we give, is the Joy we receive in one of the many rooms prepared for us. god Bless.

This is sad news indeed.
I've known Mike as one of my best buddies since grade school. We played in bands together & whenever we could we'd go jamming up a good old rock n' roll or bluesy storm - if not playing or leading worship songs in church.
He was a very good drummer.
We'd also sit around talking about God, music, the bible, life (girls & heartaches lol) late into the nights with Dave Boyle, Dave Wikles (could never spell that name right), Ed Clermont, Rod Spencer and others of the old gang of "freaks".
Mike had an incorrigible, never ending sense of humor. Always ready to hear or tell a good joke. Sometimes we'd get laughing our heads off for hours with endless jokes, quips & craziness.
Mike was also certainly among the most honest, transparent and sincere guys I ever knew.
Outspoken but never mean he was always ready to admit personal faults and ask forgiveness as well as give it freely.
He definitely won a LOT of people to Christ through the years.
Always more concerned with relationships, friendships and everyone's well-being before money or anything else. Ever willing to go the extra mile or turn the other cheek and share the burdens of others.
He had a huge heart for the lost, for the down and out, for other Xians and just regular folks, i.e. he had a huge heart!
I wish I could have taken his place, to save Mike's life, because I often considered a much better Xian than myself and he'd always be doing more for others than me. That would have been an easy choice.
Maybe he's just one of the special people that was ready for heaven before the rest of us? You know, the old "always the good ones that go first", proverb.
The world is a sadder place today, a great & compassionate human soul just left.
He will be missed by 100's & 100's of people whose lives he touched through his various services in and out of the church.
My deepest sympathies to all the family, Heather, Pam, Gary, his Mom and of course all his newer family that didn't have the privilege to meet.
Give him the works up there Lord!

Kathy, I'm sorry to hear of Mike's passing. I was so wanting to see him again but either time commitments or weather were an obstacle. It was great to have chatted with him those few times in the past months but would have loved to see him. Blessings to you and your family as you embrace your memory of Mike.
