Michael William "Mike" Metzler

Remembering Mike on the legacy of a life well lived. To my dearest friend, Terry, may your memories continue to bring you comfort and laughter.

I did not know Mike but have been informed and influenced by his work in PETE. Well done on a life well lived and contributing to a better world through your work.

Terry I only met Mike once at your home and again at Glenda´s funeral. I know how much he loved you and he loved you. You were both supported each other.
May he Rest In Peace and you find comfort and peace.

My condolences for your loss. Although we've never met your scholarly work has been a part of my professional development and life in our field. I too am a Boyer Scholar and I appreciate knowing, showing, and reminding others in our profession and our nation, that
we are more alike than different. Thank you.

Terry and family, we were so sad to hear of the loss of Mike. We think of you guys often from our times in Elijay as well as every time we turn the smoker on. What a great guy who will be missed. Best to all of you as navigate these days. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

Mike was a great colleague and mentor to me and countless others during his career. I will always cherish the lessons I learned from him and embrace his collaborative and inclusive approach to leadership and teaching. Rest in power dear friend and may memories of a life well lived bring some solace to all who are grieving.

Mike, I wish I had spent time getting to know you better. My friendship with Terry has been wonderful and her love for you was very clear. You will be greatly missed by so many. Thank you for your life of service and legacy of love.

Mike was an amazing human being and force in education. I first ran into Dr. Metzler two decades ago and over the years we crossed paths a great deal in our professional organizations and in the state of Georgia. Mike always had something that would enhance the way you thought about an issue. He pushed the envelope, drove improvement was a fighter and great leadership mentor. Quite simply, Mike set the standard.

I did not know Mike personally and had never met him, but since being here at GSU, I have heard many good things about him. My heart and prayers go out to his wife, family, and friends.
