I feel blessed to have known him, he was so Incredibly good hearted and always made me smile, I think of him often and he will always hold a special place In my heart. Michael's one year anniversary is only one week away. I pray that no mother has to experience such loss. I try so hard everyday to make an effort to find some comfort in Michael's passing. But, I never manage to come to that conclusion. I cry everyday, I miss his sense of humor, I miss hearing his voice. But, mainly I miss him giving me a hug and kiss and telling me he loves me. When Michael passed, he took my heart with him. I hope Heaven is as beautiful as people think because he deserves to be happy. He was born with a heart of gold.
To all those parents out there, never give up on your children. They are gifts from Heaven and we never know when they may be taken away from us. I was lucky ,for a short time, to have the privilege of being Michael's mom.
Forever in my heart!

Just wanted to offer my condolences to the family. Mike was a wonderful person. Funny and personable. Very sweet. The last time I saw him he bought me lunch and held my hand and reminded me why I had liked him so much to begin with. It was too long ago. So sad to hear about his passing. He was a bright light and he's still shining. RIP buddy

I've known Michael since he was 3 years old. I have had the privilege of watching him grow up and with his Mother, helping him to grow up. I did my best to be there for him at his highest and lowest points in his life and never gave up on him. I was happy to know that Michael knew he could count on me.
Michael was always a person who liked to take care of others often before himself. This was a quality that people recognized in him and made them realize his heart was genuine. I am thrilled that so many knew him this way.
Michael loved his work and had a natural talent. He was always a quick learner and had a strong work ethic. It mattered to him to do it right and people admired him for it. As busy as he was he would always help us out when we needed him.
I feel so lucky to have been a part of his life through the years. Now that he has left us I feel a part of me will always be missing. I know he is in a better place and a happy place and I have to console myself with that thought. I will miss Michael always and all the parts of his personality. Michael knew I loved him and I knew he loved me. That is all that really matters.
I wish him peace and joy and pray that we can all heal in time.

I happened to see the obituary for Mike and where he had worked and it rang a bell. I looked in my address book and found his name and phone number on the back of a business card where I had written, "Mike Mineo, good deck contractor - works for Affordable Decks." I remembered asking for his name after he came out to fix some issues we had with our deck (this was probably about 9 years ago). He was the best carpenter who had come(in multiple post deck completion visits) to repair some problems left by the original crew(not him). I distinctly remember him having a great work ethic as well as determination to fix the problems, which he did that day. I kept his number just in case we ever needed him again, which luckily we did not. I was very impressed with his maturity and his amiable personality, and I am so sorry that he has left this world far too early in his life. Please accept my deepest sympathy.

To my precious son, my Angel. I was lucky enough to have you drift into my life and you tragically and unexpectedly left this world. You are missed not only by me but by so many who loved you. These wounds are too fresh for me to come up with everything I feel in my heart. I am trying very hard to stay strong for you. I've always known you had a heart of gold and I'll spend the rest of my life letting the world know how wonderful you were. Don't forget to stay close to your family and Shane Schulte. Michael came into my life at the tender age of 4. I was afforded the luxury of making him Halloween costumes, teaching him how to play "Slap Jack", going deer hunting with him when he got his first buck, hugging him, jumping from a mountain with him, fishing with him and his friends, chaperoning his 12th birthday at our cabin with his friends, riding the trike and go kart with him, seeing all the fun he had with Shane, Derky, and all of his friends, seeing his smile, hearing his laughter, seeing the pride when his sister was born, so many memories. Michael was an amazing soul, an amazing spirit, an amazing part of our lives. He was taken too soon, far too soon. You will forever be in my heart and your smile carries on with your sister Cia and your niece Milly. I love you Michael. Finally no pain Michael Me Michael. Thank you to all that truly knew him and appreciated him. His sense of humor will never be gone.

Mike was a one of a kind type of guy. He had the ability to make you smile or laugh even when you had the worst day. He made it seem like his life mission was to always make sure everyone was happy and having a wonderful time. I had the privilege to know him. He will be forever missed and remembered in our hearts for his kindness and wonderful smile. May you R.I.P. Mike!

Just last month Mike and his team finished a beautiful deck at our home. Not only was Mike a skilled craftsman, he was a delightful and charming young man. All those who shared a hand in raising and guiding Mike into adulthood can be proud.
May God bless his family and friends.

It is hard to write something thru the tears that you shed with the loss of a 31 year old friend. I know Mike has a real father that loves him very much. Over the past decade I became some what of a father figure to him. I feel like I have not only lost a valuable friend and employee but also a son as well. We laughed together, cried together and of course fought like father and son as well. I miss those moments that we had and still should have. God took him from us way too soon. He was blossoming into a fine young man and was a truly gifted and talented carpenter. He will be truly missed as a son and he will definitely be missed as part of the Affordable Deck family. We all love you....MINEO!!!!! May God receive you with open arms.
