I am saddened by this news and commiserate with Michael's family and large circle of friends and former colleagues, who no doubt all will miss, yet recall fondly our conversations and interactions with him. Indeed, Michael was a kind-hearted, intelligent and very special person, highly regarded by those like me who had the pleasure of working with him for at least five years in the Thomson Reuters Corporate Communications Dept. Our quality time together encompassed the period preceding the pandemic and extended through the disposition of TR's Financial & Risk segment to a consortium led by Blackstone Private Equity. For many of us those were troubling developments and having in Michael an empathetic, strong mentor to share and "humanize" the disruptions made a great difference. I spent a number of lively months traveling from 3 Times Square by train up to Stamford to work in/out of TR's HQ, brainstorming on a wide mix of topics and breaking bread with Michael, as well as sitting down with him in NYC when we attended thought-leading events held on the 49th Floor. I recall in early 2019 a (typically) stimulating exchange of views MC'd and moderated by Michael up there with a hand-picked group of 35 Communications and Journalism majors from the College of Charleston. I regret being unable to attend his memorial service this coming Saturday afternoon, as I will be in Arizona that same day at a memorial service for a relative who passed away on Sept. 19. RIP Michael - your friend & ex-colleague. Mark D. Harrop

So sorry for your loss Mary, and for his family, colleagues and so many friends. I worked closely with Michael during our Thomson days, and what a time we had! Those were some of the happiest days of my career. Michael will be remembered for his warmth, compassion, intellect and passion for life, and will be sorely missed....

I was privileged to report to Michael in Thomson Reuters. I was and am based in Bangalore India. Michael loved learning and trying out everything Indian when he visited. He attended a big fat Indian wedding with me and loved every part of it. He was the most polite guest there, he kept saying namaste to practically everyone..oh.. he will be missed. Please accept my husband Jagdeesh and my condolences. I am so happy he was a part of our lives even if it was for a brief time.

Michael was a friend of mine from UCLA graduate school days. He was a dry wit and wicked sense of humor. So glad to see him happy in CT. My sincere condolences to his family and friends. We have lost a good man.

To Michael´s family - please accept my sincere condolences for such a deep loss. While we have not met, I simply want you to know Michael impacted my career and my growth as a human. We worked together at Thomson Reuters. Michael modeled the subtle art of balancing strong leadership and humility. Michael was the first "C-suite" executive in my professional life. Michael was very approachable & and empathetic listener regardless of my station a few rungs "down" in corporate hierarchy. When I had the pleasure of a business trips to NYC, Michael´s love of building community with the team and his love of New York came together. We had many special dinners and ways to come together that extended beyond the boardroom. I learned a lot from Michael. My heart is with his family at this difficult time.
