Michael Christopher Newton

Michael Christopher Newton, an extremely proud father who was loving, loyal, helpful, and playful, died on June 16, 2025. A long-time resident of Katy, Texas, Michael was born in Houston, Texas on March 12, 1969. His parents were Jacqueline Bessie Baxter Newton and William Rowland Newton, III. Michael grew up in Houston and Matagorda, TX. He attended Bay City High School and the University of Houston at Victoria. He loved spending time with his son, boating, going to the beach, traveling, and watching Houston sports teams, especially the Astros.



Michael was a salesman most of his adult life. In recent years, he also earned his Arborist Certificate. He had a quick smile, a charming nature, and a good sense of humor.



Michael was predeceased by his parents, his step-brother, Michael Christopher McManus, and, recently, his step-mother, Barbara Delano. He is survived by his son, Joshua Christopher Newton, his five siblings, Billy DuBose, Jerry DuBose (and wife, Tammye DuBose), Connie Hausler (and husband, Larry Hausler), Leslie DuBose, and Carolyn DuBose, and three step-siblings, Jim McManus (and wife Holly Harrison), Thomas Fox McManus (and wife Lisa Fox McManus), and Mary McManus-Smith (and wife Karen McManus-Smith). He is also survived by several cousins, nieces and nephews.



Michael's death has surprised and saddened family, friends, and colleagues. He will be missed by all who knew him. A Celebration of Life for Michael will be held at Parkway Fellowship in Richmond, TX. All family, friends, and colleagues who knew Michael are warmly invited to attend and honor his memory on Friday August 8, 2025 at 10:30am.
