Every morning, I think of all the things that you introduced me to in life, one of the things you were proud of doing, and I have learned to live the way you taught me. Love is forever, Alison.

Michael was my friend for 45 years. He was a brilliant, beautiful, kind man, full of excitement, vigor and fire! He was a hero of mine, always empathetic to others, always doing something to add to the world's knowledge. He once told me, "Never lose your passion" and I've remembered that as one of his special qualities. His violin playing was entrancing. His view of the world, all-encompassing. He loved everything about life and didn't expect to live this long. He was unlike anyone else I've ever met and taught me an appreciation for living I'd never known. I will miss him forever and send my sympathy to his family and friends.

Very sad news indeed. I fondly remember the good times we had playing soccer together. Also, he was truly dedicated to basic science in a way that elevated him in my opinion above essentially everyone else at Los Alamos. My sincere condolences. Johannes Mondt.
