In loving memory of a wonderful person. Mike was one of my first bosses in Miami during my high school years many years ago. He was very funny and always very caring. I typed income tax returns for about 5 years or so. He always called my husband and I when we were dating "Romeo and Juliet." Mike and his whole family were wonderful. He will always be remembered. My prayers and thoughts are with the Oesterle family.

I am so sorry. My prayers are with the Oesterle family. Mike was one of my first bosses in Miami. He was so funny and very caring. I typed income tax returns part-time for about 5 years. He used to call my husband and I "Romeo and Juliet" when we were dating. His whole family were wonderful people. He will be missed dearly and always remembered in my prayers.

I just received the letter from Brandi and I’m so sorry. Mike did my parents taxes for 30 years - starting in Miami. My Dad passed over 2 yrs. ago and we got my Mom moved up to Ga. and then my Mom just passed in Feb. Mike was so kind, he truly guided and helped me straighten out all there paper work for there taxes. (Mom was legally blind and boy it was a mess). My parents truly loved Mike and the help he gave them. When my Mom passed in Feb. and when I called Mike - he was truly sad and shared some stories with me!! He loved his kids and grandchildren and would be so proud of your choice to put your family first - especially Anthony. In knowing how the loss of parents feels - I pray for your strength and the lord to hold you up.

We are in such disbelief. Mike was larger than life. He was our friend, advisor and our confidant for over 30 years. He loved his family more than anything else and our hearts break for them. May God provide you moments of peace as you work through your grief.

Michael excelled in life! A tax expert and family man, he relocated from Miami to beautiful Crystal River. Years later, he moved his business to Palm Bay to be close to his grandchildren. He never forgot them -- or us. It's hard to believe he's gone. But, of course, he is not gone. He'll always remain in our hearts. Until we meet again.

Brandi our hearts go out to you, Brian and the rest of your family. He was such a good hearted person, always helpful and so very happy to be close to his children. Peter has known Michael for 42 years and for me the last 25 years. We always came in person to bring him the paperwork because we enjoyed seeing him. We just received the notice today of the service, we would have been there had we known. Please except our deepest sympathy. He is with the angels. Peter and Karen Serrao

Our deepest condolences to the family. Mike has been a part of our lives since the 1980s and was much more than an accountant. He was an advisor, confidant, and friend for all of those years. We will always remember him with great fondness for his warmth, friendship, and wonderful sense of humor. He will be sorely missed. We hope that the thoughts and prayers of those whose lives he touched will be a source of comfort to his family during this incredibly trying time.

It is with great sadness as I write to Mike's family when learning of his passing today.
My husband, Jack D'Arcy, and I followed in Jack's father's footsteps first going to Ralph Oesterle back in 1967 for our financials then following on with Mike to Crystal River. We relocated to another state in 1980 but continued to send our income tax papers to Mike via postal mail until a few years before he relocated to Palm Bay. I made several trips to Crystal River to hand deliver our taxes.
When my husband passed away in 2017 Mike was one of the first friends I contacted. His concern for me and my carrying on alone was his first concern and we communicated often, me always asking for his opinion on certain items. And just like Mike, he always firm and had great advice!
Yes, I could always depend on having a laugh with him of the phone during my calls, so I have always considered him as a close friend.
My heart breaks for Mike's family and for all those that loved and depended on him through the years.
I will certainly miss him greatly.

I am so very sorry for your loss. I re made contact with Mike just this past year, i am so happy we got to speak at length, a good conversation. He sounded so very happy to be close to his grandchildren and family. I am sorry i saw notice 4 hours too late, i would most certainly have come to service in Rockledge.

My deepest condolences to the family. It's especially hard when someone who seems like they had a lot of living left to do gets taken far too soon. Mike did my taxes for more than 30 years from the time I was a young reporter who didn't have a clue about finances and brought him my receipts in a baggie to more recent years, when under his tutelage, I believe I've taken a more sophisticated approach toward money. Mike was with me through all the important milestones in life -- marriage, child, college education for said child, buying homes and retirement -- so it almost feels like losing a member of the family. Every tax season he also shared his own news and he couldn't have been prouder of his kids and grandkids. I'll miss him, and every tax season from now on, I'll remember Mike and salute him at his giant calculator in the sky.

I still can't believe that Michael is no longer with us. He and his prominent family were Miami natives. A long time friend and terrific tax expert, he had an office there and for decades and decades never flinched when I showed up with boxes full of papers. He was a true man of the city and I loved shooting photos of him on the streets he loved. I was stunned when he moved to beautiful Crystal River with it's manatees and glorious environment. I was so sad to see him go -- but he never really did! He continued to be a wonderful friend, family man, and tax expert, as always. He loved his work -- and us. Again, I thought he'd be there forever. But he loved his family as well and moved again, this time to Palm Bay, on this coast to be near young family members. He worked hard on his his new home and built a new office. And still did everyone's taxes. Friends often drove from Miami to his new office and stayed for a day or two. Sadly I never did. We talked on the phone frequently but due to work demands I couldn't go. I'd never driven up there and it's a long, long drive in an old car, and older driver. Today wish I was with all of you who love and admire Michael. He will always be remembered. I still don't believe he's gone -- and he isn't. He'll be alive in our hearts forever. R.I.P. Michael, until we meet again.

So sorry to hear about Mike's passing. We've known him for quite a while in the Crystal River area. Still sent our taxes to be completed by him when he moved away. Always so pleasant and joking. My husband reminded him of Ray Romano so he always called me Mrs Romano. You will be missed. May he rest in peace. Prayers for him and his family.

Michael was a good and kind neighbor not just in words but in deeds. "Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself". Michael demonstrated this command to the fullest. He will be missed by us all. I am in shock. Mike was my buddy. Mike was first my friend and second my tax man. Been doing my taxes since I was with National Airlines. He did many flight attendants' taxes. I will miss you sooo much Michael. He always talked about his kids and grandkids. They were his world. And yes, he was like a bartender, shared so much with him. Damn I will miss you Michael.

Mike was not only our taxman, but also a wonderful friend, always willing to help and genuinely happy to see others do well. Our business could not have survived for 35 years without Mike’s optimistic guidance and support. After “shop” talk, he would always have time for personal updates, asking about our family and telling us about his. Mike was a family guy, so proud of his children and grandchildren. We can’t even imagine a world without his unique and sunny disposition. Our deepest sympathy to Brandi and to Mike’s entire family. We’re going to miss him dearly, as we know many others will as well.

I am saddened to learn of Michael's passing. Our families, both from Dade County, have been close friends my entire life. Ever since the office on 8th Street in West Miami, Michael has done my family's tax work. He was always a pleasure to work with and had a great sense of work / life balance. Even as we both moved away from Miami, there was a hometown feel when we would converse. Family was very important for Michael, a trait we both shared. On behalf of the Stone family, I wish prayers of peace and love to his family. I know Michael is riding his motorbike upon High.

It was awfully sad and surprising to learn Sunday morning that our friend and tax advisor Mike Oesterle died two weeks ago. We had worked with him since the late 1970s, when his office was on Tamiami Trail near Red Road in Miami. We remained with him after he relocated in 2002 to faraway Crystal River, and again in 2016 to Palm Bay.
His client base included a large number of Miami Herald journalists who nicknamed him "Magic Mike." He knew reporters' tax status especially well, and always made sure we got the most out of it while complying carefully with the rules.
Other than that, he was a friend to all of us. Doing tax work wasn't fun for our kind, but we all looked forward to it with Mike and enjoyed our visits with him over coladas from the ventanita a block away. We will miss him personally as much as personally.

I met Michael when I was hired part time in the West Miami office during tax season in 1976. So, I have known Mike longer than any other friend, and he was my one and only tax man. Mike was the kindest, most good-natured, funniest guy! He was always helpful, always supportive, and he helped me through some dark days in my life. I relied on Mike for his honest, excellent advice. I am so very sad to learn he has left us and I will miss him terribly. He loved and adored his family and I send all his loved ones my deepest condolences. Mike’s passing is a profound loss for so many.

Very sad and shocked to read to read about Mike’s passing this morning. He was my father’s CPA when my father was in business for many years (Mike’s mother, Clara, was still a Commissioner of M-D County). When my father passed unexpectantly several years ago, Mike was my first call. I felt comfortable calling him because of the relationship and friendship that had grown between them. He guided me through my shock and then became my CPA also.
My deepest sympathies to the entire family. As you know, he spoke of you all in his annual letter to his clients reminding them to get all their papers together. His family was everything.

Mike was my husband for 25 years. He was an all around wonderful man, husband, father, brother and grandfather. Family was the most important to him next to work. As you all know, Mike was a workaholic. I only wish Mike had taken more time for himself to enjoy life; however, I know he enjoyed every minute of life he could. It's a shock, very painful for those left behind and he will be sorely missed!

What started as a simple client/tax professional relationship, over the next twentysomething years, also became a personal friendship — even after he moved from his office in Little Havana and we just spoke on the phone. I'll remember Mike as unfailingly kind and generous, sharp, honest, and wise. There are probably many good men and women of numbers and tax laws, but his humanity made him special. When the hard times hit, and if you worked for a newspaper they hit hard, Mike was understanding, helpful, and reassuring. He would be my first call for help with financial trouble, and he would always find the time and the right word. I am so grateful to have known him. My thoughts are with his family. He will be missed.

I guess I knew Mike for over 30 years as a friend and as my "Tax Man". He was someone I looked forward talking to on a personal as well as professional basis. Mike made my tax questions and concerns less daunting and anxious for me. Mike put up with my untraditional, erratic, ever changing tax document preparation as I bet Brandi can attest to. Mike always took the time to take my calls, always patient even when he had a ton of work to handle. Mike's phone numbers are on my auto dial...I think I'll keep them there. My best wishes and those of my family go out to Mike's family. Mike will be truly missed.

Our family was fortunate to have such a long association with Mike. In fact, the relationship with the Oesterle family began when our parents, Jim & Carol Harrison, worked with Mike’s father Ralph in Miami back in the 1960s. When Mike became the trusted adviser, the whole family grew to love and appreciate, not just Mike’s knowledge, but also his good humor and kindly demeanor. He will be very missed. Our hearts and prayers go out to his family. With deepest sympathy from Jim & Carol's daughters, Dayle H. Jacob, Jan H. Peel, and Joy H. Canova
