Michael Raby Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 27, 2025.
Mr. Michael Stewart "Mike" Raby, age 74, took his last breath on earth and went to see Jesus in the early morning hours of Saturday August 16, 2025. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and man of unwavering faith, Mike's life was marked by love, service, and a deep commitment to sharing the message of Jesus.

Born on August 30, 1950, in Nashville, Tennessee, Mike grew up with strong roots in his community and faith. He graduated from Hillwood High School in 1968 and later served honorably in the United States Army, demonstrating his steadfast commitment to his country.

On July 17, 1976, Mike married the love of his life, Bonnie Raby. Their union spanned 49 years and was blessed with five children and a growing legacy of 20 grandchildren who brought him immense joy. Mike was always eager for adventure, whether hiking, climbing trees, or enjoying water activities like swimming, kayaking, canoeing, and cliff jumping. His passion for adventure lives on through his family.

Mike is survived by his beloved wife Bonnie; their five children: Andrew Raby (Lisa) and their children Noah, Kaia, Lily, Levi, and Trek; David Raby (Jill) and their children Ethan, Elijah, Susanne, Joshua, and Jeremiah; Malia Morrell (Jamie) and their children Riley (Abbie), Trapper, Owen, and Hannah; Samuel Raby (Victoria) and their children Makayla, Kindyl, and William; and Rachel Pelamati (Jesse) and their children Marley, Lincoln, and Hank. He is also survived by his sister Patricia Davis; stepmother Elna Raby; sister in law Ginny Haile (Alan); brother in law Joel Barron; nephews Paul Owen (Melissa), Jeremy Haile (Jen), and Scott Haile, with cherished memories of his late wife Beth; and a multitude of Cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father William Raby; mother Joan Raby; father-in-law William Barron; mother-in-law Dorothy Barron; and brother-in-law Gerald Davis.

Mike was known for his kind heart and generous spirit. A hardworking man throughout his life, he never missed an opportunity to lend a helping hand or share a word of encouragement. Above all else, he was a faithful believer in Jesus Christ. His greatest passion was telling others about Jesus-whether through quiet acts of kindness or heartfelt conversations-and he lived each day as a testament to that faith.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Sunday, September 14th at Freedom Church in Gallatin. Visitation will begin at 2:00 P.M. followed by the Service at 2:45 P.M. We would be honored to have anyone who loved Mike and his family to attend.

May the memory of Michael Stewart "Mike" Raby bring comfort to those who knew him and continue to inspire all who were touched by his life.
