Sgt. Senna taught our vehicle code CHP Academy Class CTC-V-82 where we graduated March 3, 1983. He was known for interjecting humor into a serious subject. I remember one time I asked him a question about what code section to use if a farm labor bus that was towing a portable toilet behind it for the farm workers was found to be exceeding the 55 MPH speed limit. From that day forward, he "affectionately" referred to me as "Cadet Tidy Bowl".

I DEEPLY ADMIRED SGT.SENNA AS I WENT THROUGH THE CHP ACADEMY IN 1983. HIS VEHICLE CODE TRAINING WAS THE BACKBONE OF THE CHP. HE ALWAYS HAD A FUNNY STORY! MANY CHP OFFICERS ARE SADDEND BY HIS PASSING. GOD BLESS HIM AND HIS FAMILY. ED GILMORE #11011.

Sorry to read of Mike's passing. Worked with him as break in partner in South LA. Always thought of him as a friend, tho we didn't meet for many years. He was a good man.

Dear Jan: Mike taught vehicle code training at the Academy when I was going through in 1982. He took a very dull subject and made it interesting and entertaining. We never crossed paths after that, but I remember him as a warm person with a great sense of humor. My sincere condolences to you and the entire family. Mike was a good man and one hell of a highway patrolman. Mark

I am very proud to have known Mike and to have him as a part of our family. I have always held him in very high regard in his personal and professional life.
The amount of courage and strength that he portrayed throughout this whole ordeal speaks volumes about his character.
He was a good man and I will miss him.

Dear Jan,
I remember when we all first met through the CHP in Santa Cruz...and then again a few years later as neighbors in Sacramento. I remember all the of fun filled week-ends we spent hanging out at the Rosemont Cabana Club/Swim Team and Rosemont Soccer Club. Good times with a whole lot of very fond memories of you & Mike and all the kids.
Please know you and your entire family are in our thoughts & prayers.
With love & our deepest sympathy,
John & Kathy Myers (Vancouver, WA)
