On behalf of all of us in Mike's family, I want to thank everyone for the kind words they have sent in the past year. It is so hard to believe that it has been a year since we lost Mike. We all miss him terribly. We have enjoyed reading all the entries and it has brought us happiness to know he was so well loved.

We were neighbor's of the Sienko's in north Mpls when Mike was a boy. He was a nice kid and he remained a nice man. I don't think we ever saw him without a smile on his face. I remember when he fell in love with Becky and he put the sign in the yard. "Mike loves Becky" It has been so long ago that I am not sure of the exact words anymore but I remember thinking "wow! this kid is a romantic too" He will be missed. We are so very sorry for all of his family. Heven will be a happier place with him there.

I am sorry to hear of Mike's passing. I knew Mike in our childhood. I recall the time's when Mike & Marty would challenge all of the rest of the kids in whiffleball, touch football, street hockey, whatever the sport, and usually win. My prayers go out to all that knew him.

Becky, Ryan, Megan, Laura and Amy,

What a great tribute to your loving Husband and Dad in Duluth nearly a month ago. What an outpouring and celebration of a fine man's life! You all are SUCH shining examples of Mike's great love of life. It meant so much to me to lay him to rest as a pallbearer with others who loved him. Thank you for that honor.

He lived his life with absolute ZEST. In the 40 years that I knew Mike - 1st grade at St. Bridgets, on to Grace High school and the now many years beyond that - his demeanor, attitude and style hardly changed. "Sinks" was so easy to like and love.

I have a MILLION memories of Mike. Most revolve around fun and laughter, friendship and sincerity. Even though it has been too long since "Sinks" and I last saw each other and I received a Sienko hug from him, we were close these last 5 years or so, sharing business and career stuff, while staying in touch through our good friend Mike Brandes too.

Bec, when we vacationed together so often in the early 90's, I NEVER would have dreamt that would be our last vacations with you. But the great memories from those times, like all the times spent around you guys are very special to us.

Whatever we can do, whenever you need us. We will pray for your healing and acceptance of God's will. Mike's void will be very tough to fill, but you are a GREAT bunch of Sienko's. And Mike would want you to carry each other, just as if he were there. And he will be.

We love you guys. John and Mary Ennen, Zachary, Jacob, Tanner and Garrett.

Becky & Family,

I heard the terrible news this week while at a meeting at Totino-Grace high school. A couple of guys at my table apparently went to high school with Mike and talking about what a tragedy it was. I was shocked when I found out it was our Mike that they were talking about. I haven't seen Mike in many years, probably since the reunion at Nyes. Mike was the same fun, upbeat guy he was all through college. I know he was a great family man and will be missed by all who knew him. My family and I will keep Mike and your family in our prayers, but I am sure he has a big smile looking down on all of us.

Dear Becky and Kids,

Josie and I were very shocked and saddened to learn of the loss of Mike. He was one of the most genuine, caring, and upbeat people I have ever met. He could liven up any situation with his infectious smile and laugh. He was very special to so many, and will be missed by all. It was obvious to all of us how deeply he cared for his family and friends. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all in this very difficult time. May God Bless.

My Dearest Friend Bec, Ryan and girls,

The world truly got a bit dimmer last tuesday and the heavens a little brighter when we lost Mike. I can't imagine our lives without him as I know you can't. He loved you Becky more than life itself as well as the kids. I was lucky enough to be a part of your love story and lives for these past 29 years. Few of us are able to say we've made a difference in people's lives but Mike was one of the ones who did. I will always remember him with a smile, and grieve over his passing with every day. Becky, you know I wish I was next door to help in some way make this easier, but know I am here if you need me. You and the kids will be in our prayers and thoughts daily. As the Irish would say,"Until we see Mike again may God hold all of us in the palm of His hand." I Love You Friend,

Sheila, Briuan and Cullen

We were at all the services for Mike this weekend and felt very proud to hear of his accomplishments, his values, his obvious people skills, and his family devotion. May his good work continue to be reflected in those lives he touched. May HE give us all the understanding and strength to face the future without him. All our love to Becky, the family, Stan and Babe.

The last time I saw Mike was at the annual Sienko family reunion last August. Our family had just lost Julie only a few weeks before and he was one of the first to be there with a huge hug and support. Being Mike's cousin, I always knew what a great guy he was. But after the events of the last couple days in Duluth, I was still left in awe. There is a saying: "A heart is not judged by how much you love, but by how much you are loved by others". After witnessing the incredible outpouring of love for Mike, it is clear that no matter which way it is judged, Mike was one of the best. I don’t want to even begin to imagine the next family reunion without him. We will miss him dearly. What a gift he was to us all.

Dear Becky, Ryan, Meghan, Laura and Amy,

I cannot express how sad I was to hear about Mike's death. He trully was an amazing man. I have so many fond memories from hockey tournaments to baby-sitting. I can remember just walking by your house and hearing Mike yell, "Little Hansy!" from an upper story window. He'd run outside to give me a hug and catch up on old times. He cared about everyone that way and that's why we all loved and will miss him. I know that Mike is in heaven now, which is why I will not mourn for him, I only mourn for us, for the loss we feel in not being able to see his smiling face or hear his laugh again. But the memories will always be there. I love you all and my thoughts and prayers are with you in this horrible time.

God Bless,

Dear Becky,

It's been a long time, but time does not diminish how sad I feel for the deep loss that a childhood friend is experiencing today. I was lucky enough to meet Mike a few times to know we lost one of the good ones much too early. I kept tabs on you guys through my Dad's best friend - Stan; a father that has always been as proud of his son as he was of the woman he married and the grandchildren they blessed him and Babe with. I take pleasure in knowing, and thank God you have such a wonderful loving family to lean on in Ma & Pa Fischer (as I always knew them!), sister Jean, and my best friend of forty-some years ago - brother Mike. You and your children will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Richard and I are greatly saddened to hear of your loss. We worked with Mike out of the CF Midwest Area Headquarters and he was always upbeat and wonderful to talk with. Since I grew up in Minnesota and knew people that went to Fridley-Grace, we would share memories of high school and I would enjoy his Minnesota "accent". He spoke so lovingly of his family and life with you. Your husband will be sorely missed by us all.

Dear Sienko Family,

The greatest measure of the worth of a human life is the impact of that life on others. The phrase loving father, husband, and friend has rarely been more apt of a description. Mike's life was a gift and that gift will continue with the lives of his family.

Becky and family,

I was notified of Mike's death yesterday by another former CF'er.Many of us have known him since the days of his dark hair and stayed in touch during the many moves and relocations over the years.Last June we sat down at Grandmothers in Duluth and saw each other for the first time in over 6 years. His dark hair now gone, but his "Harveeeey baby" greetings was the same as always. We spent very little time bringing each other up to date on ourselves, but conversation about his and my family filled an hour and a half. Two weeks later to the day,he called me to tell me of Dave Olson's death and we spoke again of how important family was.We discussed getting together with our wives for supper in late September, but he had a 'family' get together planned for the weekend we would be in town.I told him family first..always, and that was the last time we spoke. If you knew Mike, you will always know him. I miss him terribly already, and will hold his memory, laugh, and the twinkle in his eyes dear to me forever.

Becky, Kids & Sienko Family,

Words cannot begin to tell you of the deep sorrow in my heart for all of you. It is so tragic and unfair to have such an incredibly wonderful person like Mike leave us so early in his life. I have only fond, fond memories of Mike from many, many Sienko events. He brought so much joy to so many of us with his great humor and good soul. An incredible husband, brother, son and friend. He will be missed so much. I pray for you all and hope you find some comfort in knowing there are so many that love you and will forever cherish personal memories of Mike.
