Michael Skypeck Obituary

SKYPECK - Michael R. Skypeck, 53, a resident of West Yarmouth since 1995 and a former long time resident of Springfield and Chicopee, died early Thursday afternoon at his residence. He was born in Holyoke, the son of Mary A. (Zolenski) Skypeck of Chicopee, and the late Michael T. Skypeck who died in December of 1994. Michael was educated from the Holyoke and Chicopee School Systems and was a graduate of Chicopee Comprehensive Class of 1967. He also was a graduate of Springfield Technical Community College and Lesley College where he earned a bachelor's degree in Business Management. Michael was currently employed for 33 years in the communication industry. His career began with the former New England Telephone Company and currently he was a construction manager for Verizon. Besides his mother he leaves his partner, Joni L. Pray of West Yarmouth; two daughters, Amy L. Hogan along with her husband William, III of Northampton and Holly A. Skypeck along with her partner Kevin Euber of Agawam; one sister, Patrica A. Hebert along with her husband Donald of Chicopee; one granddaughter, Taylor A. Euber and two nephews, Donald and David Hebert. His funeral will be held Tuesday at 8:45 a.m. from Samson's Chapel of the Acres, 21 Tinkham Rd., Springfield, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Holy Cross Church, Plumtree Road, Springfield. Rites of Committal will follow at 2 p.m. at Chandler Gray Cemetery, Yarmouth, MA. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Monday from 5-9 p.m. and contributions in his memory may be directed to the charity of one's choice.
