I met Mike when I first moved out here to Maricopa. there he was at the bar playing golf with his buddies and there I was missing my husband that loves golf but, was back in North Dakota selling our house . I was hearing their laughter and their camaraderie, so as I walked out of the bar I put a five dollar bill in front of each spot and the boys looked at me like I was crazy. I said don´t worry it´s the cheapest round of golf I´ve ever paid for. The next time I walked into the bar, Mike bought me a beer and the rest is history history. We shared many beers since & I will miss him dearly.

Mike was one of the first people we met when moving to Maricopa. Always a gentleman & welcomed us into a great friendship with him & his many True Grit/Roost group. Yes, we ribbed each other being Green Bay Packers fans and he a "die hard" Vikings fan, but all in fun. We definitely cannot all love the same team . Over the years, Mike stayed in contact with us when we traveled back to North Dakota for the summer months. Mike, you are loved & will be missed. We send our deepest sympathies & prayers to the family & friends of Mike . We celebrate your life today & everyday..RIP BIG MIKE

Mike and I met when I moved to the Chicago suburbs almost 30 years ago, and have been good friends ever since. He was one of the reasons I moved to Maricopa 13 years ago. We´ve shared a lot of laughs and drank our fair share of beers. I will miss my friend..

Mike was an awesome guy. I was his bartender for many years and he was always kind, patient and respectful. He brought people together and always had a smile on his face. He was fun to talk with and played music. He was my fantasy football commissioner for 9 years. I will miss his smile but his spirit will live on. I wish more people could be like Mike.

Mike shared photos of the wild horses near his home, which fascinated me. He was a kind and gentle man

I have such fond memories of my father-in-law. The first time we met, we were making hamburgers together, and from that day forth, he introduced me to the American way of life. He loved watching football while enjoying a beer, and we spent hours together immersed in various TV shows, always engaged in lively conversations about new recipes we should try out. He was quite adventurous with food, often presenting me with the most unusual combinations to sample.
I remember the first time I made him a unique dessert from Africa; he was so enthusiastic that he kept asking when I would be making it again. It was the same with the dinners I prepared for him-he was genuinely interested in what I would come up with next. He had this wonderful ability to share insights about my own country that I wasn't even aware of, sparking my curiosity to look it up afterwards.
One thing I could never quite comprehend was how he was always so cheerful early in the morning, while I, by contrast, tend to be rather sluggish at that hour. His bright spirit truly lightened my mornings, and I will miss him immensely. I am deeply grateful to have had another father figure in my life.

On the first Sunday since your passing, I already miss the fantasy talk, shooting the bull with my favorite guy. Man how lucky I was to have you around. RIP Dad. Breathe the fresh air again my man.

Sullivan will always be remembered by me his live of music, always enjoyed being at the Roost and he would become the "D.J." and take over the jukebox and play music from our Era. It was awesome to hear his tunes

Mike was the first person I met when I moved to Maricopa. I would sit at the bar by myself and then one day I heard this loud guy at the table behind me cheering for the Vikings. Just another loud, obnoxious Vikings fan I thought. Then I heard him mention a few places in Illinois, close to where I was from. I got up the courage to go over and introduce myself and tell him I was from Illinois too. From that moment on, he took me under his wing and began introducing me to what has become my circle of friends in Maricopa. I will always be thankful to him for that. I already miss that loud, obnoxious, lovable Vikings fan
