Dear Tetlow Family,
Please except my deepest condolences to your family on the loss of a wonderful teacher and mentor. He has touched so many lives and I will forever remember his teachings. No matter what the situation would be there would always be a smile on his face, which was contagious. Whenever I visited St. Paul's I made sure to see him and catch up with him. He would offer me jokes about my life and I looked to him for advice. The memories of his time here have changed so many peoples lives and this was apparent most at his funeral. Again I am truly saddened for your loss. I will keep your family continuously in my prayers. God Bless!

Dear Tetlow Family,
My deepest sympathy and prayers during this time. I have great memories of Mike and our time together at St. Meinrad. We became fast friends and played some great practical jokes on each other. I think of Mike often and the memories always make me smile and bring a sense of joy to my heart. May God's peace be with you.

Mr. Tetlow was my daughter's history teacher at St Paul's Catholic School in Riverside many years ago. He was to return to the school following his marriage that summer so long ago, but after the accident he was not able to go back to the Riverside school and it was a major loss to them because he was a dedicated and wonderful teacher. During his stay and recovery at the rehab facility near Memorial Hospital we visited several times and while we were there we also saw other students of his visiting this beloved man. Well, unfortunately my daughter died last year on December 30th and while I will always always miss her I know she is with God. Today as I read the article just learning of Mr. Tetlow's passing I thought of Marci and how happy she must have been to see her beloved teacher again. So, while we mourn the lost of a fine humble, dedicated teacher and spiritual man at least I know my Marci is happy that she is able to see him again, even if she often looked like at deer caught in headlights when he asked her a question during his history class, she loved him and always thought of him as one of her best teachers, if not her best!! My prayers go out to all his family and friends - may our beloved Mr. Tetlow once again find he has no limitations like he had here on earth after his accident, however even with being left paralyzed he was determined to continue with his work - God's work for him of teaching, providing inspiration and loving the children that were lucky enough to be his students.

Even over 40 years ago, I could tell that you had 'it', some kind of X factor that made you special. Even then, you were the catalyst of our group. My dad thought of you as a son. Looking back, I'm honored to have had you as a childhood friend. You have inspired thousands of people, and it looks like your journey as a teacher and mentor has by far exceeded conventional expectations. Save us some seats, OK?
I found a few pics from back in the day, hope you don't mind my posting this one of you with a milk mustache.

Mr. tetlow has impacted many lives around the St.Paul`s family.
Mr. Tetlow was the best religion teacher that anyone could ever have. The way he taught the Catholic faith was the most asmazing thing that I have experienced. Mike Tetlow did not use a normal Catechism book he taught mainly from knowledge, the Bible, and we watched a lot of videos from REALCATHOLICTV.COM
Mike Tetlow mostly taught by example of how to live a wonderful Catholic life
Mr. Tetlow Will be remembered forever.

I have so many great memories of Mike - as a teacher, a Gator, a St. Paul's parishioner (that actually sang along with me!), a Lector, a mentor to my kids and most importantly, as a friend. He was loved by so many people.
I hope you find comfort in knowing that he is in God's hands now and that his time on earth was a shining example of what a human being should be. Peace be with you.

My heartfelt condolences and sympathy to the Tetlow family. I remember Mr Tetlow well as a social studies teacher at St Paul's Riverside, the boys athletics coach, helping out with the Christmas tree lot, he and his brother Paul painted my parents house the summer I was in 6th grade (maybe 1994?). What a wonderful, sincere, humble, intelligent, witty, Christian friend and teacher! He will be missed dearly.

As a parent of three children, who have had the privilege of benefitting from the wonderful example that Mike Tetlow exhibited every day he came in contact with them, I am eternally grateful for the positive impact he has left on not only my children but the numerous others who had that same privilege. The greatest lessons taught by Mike Tetlow often had little to do with the text books.
In a time when there are so many troublesome influences for children of today to deal with it is a very special gift for a student to observe someone with such a vibrant and indomitable spirit particularly in the face of such great adversity.
I am overjoyed for Mike to have moved on to the spiritual rewards which he so richly deserves. My sadness is for the students and their parents who have lost their opportunity to be forever impacted by this amazing teacher, friend, and all around wonderful human being. He was a shining example of some of God's best work!

My first encounter with Mike was being hit in the head with a tomato, he was a great pitcher. We spent endless summers playing cork ball and breaking things with our sling shots. During the fall we played electric football and sandlot. Mike was always playing jokes and tricks on us all. He always had a smile and made my life fun. We sold Christmas trees, watched Monday Night Baseball, played pinball at the Magic Mart, and gung out at LSAA. Mike is in every childhood memory. He was the bother I never had.
May God Bless the Tetlow Family. I look forward to playing cork ball on the streets of gold with you my friend,

If there were ever a teacher that inspired me, that took the time to get to know me and offer guidance, it was you! Some 25 years later, I still remember you as the teacher who had the greatest, most positive impact on my life. You are certainly one of God's angels sent here to live on this earth, carry out his work and share his love. You will be missed and remembered with fondness by so many. I learned of your passing through a friend's daughter who is currently enrolled in your religion class at St. Pauls - she was absolutely inconsolable. To me, this is just another example of the impact you have on others and the love so many feel towards you... May God welcome you into his kingdom with open arms as I am sure there is a celebration in the heavens, welcoming your homecoming. For those who knew and loved you, we will miss you.

My memories of Mike go back over 20 years when I was in high school. He and his brother, Father John Tetlow, were such wonderful examples of God's love for His children. Mr. Tetlow was truly an inspiration to all and will be missed by many. He touched so many lives by just being himself. He never met a stranger , loved his students so much and was each of theirs greatest fan. Besides teaching his students the Bible inside and out he taught them to be respective, to give 100 % in everything they do and to live as followers of Christ. All the posts on facebook are a refection of what a loving, caring and amazing person he was. I know he is finally at peace, no longer in pain and keeping an eye on all of us from his special place in heaven.
My deepest sympathies to the Tetlow family - Mike will always remain in our hearts. Thank you for sharing him with us. We are all better people for having met him. God Bless you all.
