Manchester
Michael L. Texter, 61, of East Manchester Township, was ushered to his eternal resting place by the Lord's Angels on Saturday, April 8, 2017 from Memorial Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Lisa N. (Plymire) Texter. They shared their 29th wedding Anniversary in November 2016.
Born August 15, 1955, he was the son of the late Walter and Roma Texter.
Michael was employed by the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection. He enjoyed hiking in the mountains, hunting, gardening, and taking care of his family and home. He was an advocate for the environment and worked to keep PA beautiful.
In addition to his wife, Michael is survived by three sons, Kristopher Smith and wife, Carrie, Andrew Texter and Eric Texter; and one grandson, Bennet Smith. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Renee Henry, and her two sons, Paul J. Henry III and Darren Henry; and three sisters, Barbara John, Joan Kauffman, and Lisa D. Texter.
Services for Michael will be private. Officiating at his service will be Pastor Edwina Landry from Christ Lutheran Church in Manchester. Arrangements have been entrusted to The Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation Center of Mount Wolf.
Michael will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

I would just like to say...... he was a favorite customer of mine at giant he and Lisa would wait patiently to visit with me faithfully every week!!!!!
I totally adored both of them and appreciated their kindness and friendship!!!!! Lisa always went out of her way to send her husband every Thursday night to come see his girlfriend my thoughts and prayers are always with you Lisa

I remember running laps with you in the hallways of Conrad Weiser... You were always one of the smartest kids in our class, especially in the sciences, and I was please to read that you found your calling in helping to protect the environment. Any you loved to hike - me too. Rest in peace - my friend.

The world has always needed more people like Mike. The loss is sorely felt.
Mike is one of the 1st people I came to know at DEP Central Office. He was always a pleasure with which to work & chat.

I just heard about Mike's passing; what a shock. I enjoyed working with Mike at DEP for many years and always could rely on him to solve my computer problems. I did enjoy his dry sense of humor and never did raid his pretzels (although he probably wouldn't have minded if I did). I'm sorry for his loss to all his friends and family. I know he will be missed.

I have worked with Mike and DEP for many years as a vendor for the Commonwealth. Mike had always been an extremely nice gentleman to deal with in the good times and bad times that can occur over the course of government contracts. Fair to the vendor and the best advocate for the Commonwealth and DEP. He really made the times all good regardless. Truly one of the best professionals I have dealt with over the years. He had a funny dry sense of humor. Always slipped in a little comment that would bring a smile or a laugh. Great guy! I know everyone, his friends at DEP, his wife, his family and his life long friends, will miss him dearly as will I. All the best to his family and friends. Rest In Peace Mike!

I am so saddened by the news of the passing of Mike, my childhood next door neighbor and best friend. We spent countless hours together as boys and young men. My stories are too numerous for these pages. He was a very intelligent man with a great sense of humor, sometimes dry as it was. Later in life, we spoke on each other's birthdays for the past 30 yrs or so. I will miss those conversations. Our deepest sympathy and prayers to you, Lisa and the boys (men!)

I did not know Mike well but had many phone & e-mail conversations regarding DEP and the annual KPB cleanup events over the years. I finally got to meet him on Weds. and I know how much he will be missed by his family but also by those he assisted in so many ways during his life.

I am so sorry to hear about Mike. I had the pleasure of working with him for the past two years in the Bureau of Waste Management. He was always helpful and he knew everything. He was the go-to-guy. I'm so sorry to hear of Mike's passing. I got to know him professionally but enjoyed his genuinely pleasant disposition and sincere enthusiasm for what he did. I had the pleasure to see him just last week at a Keep PA Beautiful meeting and he was exhibiting that same helpful spirit!
