On Thursday, June 4, 2015. Michael M., of Murrysville, formerly of North Versailles, passed away. Beloved husband of Dolores (Pulit) Tomko of 59 years; loving father of Michelle (Dr. Howard) Ferimer, Carol (Robert) Furgurson, Kathleen (Brian) Molinaro, and Mary Ann (Cmdr Michael) Hritz; brother of Elsie (Bill) Spevak; grandfather of Dr. Stephanie Ferimer, Steven Ferimer, Miles Molinaro, Breanna Molinaro, Livia Molinaro, Conrad Molinaro, Elsa Hritz, and Dolly Hritz; cousin of William Astrab and George Astrab. He was a graduate of Pitt, class of 1954. Michael was a teacher for 40 years where he taught at Rankin High, Langley High, Hillel Academy, West Mifflin South and St. Angela Merici. Friends received Sunday and Monday 2 p.m. - 8 p.m. at the JAMES F. KUTCH FUNERAL HOMES & CREMATORY, 433 Lincoln Hwy., East McKeesport, 412-823-4054 with Parastas Monday 3:30 p.m. Divine Liturgy Tuesday 11 a.m. St. Peter & Paul Church, Braddock, PA (EVERYONE PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH). Burial will follow in McKeesport Versailles Cemetery.

I just learned now of Mr. Tomko's passing while discussing favorite teachers with a classmate.
Mr. Tomko was the best. He treated us like adults, demanded excellence and responsibility.

I was a student of Mr. Tomko at Langley high and he was my favorite teacher, he always made me feel proud of myself when I knew an answer. I graduated in 1966 and still think of Mr. Tomko fondly and he was a great teacher.

I am so sorry to hear about Mr. Tomko. I have such fond memories of Mr. Tomko and St. Angela! He was a wonderful teacher!
