MICHAEL VINCENT TOTORO

Michael Vincent Totoro, of Hastings-on-Hudson, passed away on October 10, 2004. He was born on November 17, 1930 in Yonkers to Albert and Marie Del Giappone Totoro. Michael proudly served his country in the US Army as a Staff Sgt. with the 807 Engineer Aviation Battalion during the Korean War. He married his loving wife, Mary Conte on June 30, 1957 at the Holy Rosary Church in Yonkers. He has been a Hastings-on-Hudson resident for 37 years. Prior to that, he was from Yonkers. Michael was a partner in Allen Johnson Wholesale Meat Inc. in Yonkers for approximately 15 years. He then was a General Foreman for the Parks & Recreation of the Town of Greenburgh for 27 years, retiring in 1999. Michael is predeceased by a brother, Dominic Totoro and he is survived by his loving wife, Mary, of Hastings-on-Hudson; his beloved two sons: Michael and his wife, Lydia of Dobbs Ferry, NY; Vincent and his wife, Kathryn of Somers, NY; his cherished grandchildren: Kyla, Erika, Luke and Christopher. Also surviving are his two brothers: David Totoro of Hastings, NY; Nicholas Totoro of Mahopac, NY; his two sisters: Mary Mercorella and Philomena Portony, both of Yonkers. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Michael on Friday, October 15 at 9:30 am at Sacred Heart Church in Dobbs Ferry, with interment to follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Whalen & Ball Funeral Home.
