Michael "Mickey" Walczak

This is a shock, he seemed indestructible. I used to chat and have a beer or two with him at "Quarters." He was always interesting and fun to be with. His life wasn´t always easy, but it was well lived. He will be remembered and not just as an athlete.

My man Mickey you are a great role model for me and my friends we always looked up to you as a person of hard work and great sportsmanship thank you for helping me to become a better athlete and person. Our times on the basketball court will be cherished forever.West Virginia university was lucky to have you.

When you say the name Mickey Walczack to me, I think, in my opinion, he was Saratoga's finest athlete of all time. Wasn't anything he couldn't do. He was just so strong & powerful on the football field & just as skilled & powerful as a basketball player. We had a really good relationship. I used to tell him Saratoga was known for a lot of things & that after his performance in the Peach Bowl, that Saratoga was now known as the home of Peach Bowl MVP Mickey Walczak.The legacy he left behind makes me proud to have actually witnessed two of Saratoga's finest , Anthony Weaver & the Late Mickey Walczak !! The Lord has summoned him to give up his earthly life & come home. Rest in Peace my friend !!

Mickey was a great friend and great teammate we grew up together from grade school and high school and college. He had a soft voice and always had my back on the basketball court. Rest in peace Mickey.
