My husband Scott met Mike while installing doors at one of the schools Mike was over-seeing. Scott and Mike were close friends immediately.
When I met Tricia we were like sisters. After that, the four of us were together almost every week-end.
Unfortunately we lost touch a few years ago. Tricia I´ve been looking for you.
Tricia, please call me @ (770)366-5858.

We made beeswax candles and soaps and sold at the Snellville and Lawrenceville farmers markets for a few years. The house always smelled so good.

We held a Celebration of Life for Michael in the library of the Brookwood High School in Snellville, GA. The turnout was touching and impressive. This did bring pride and joy to a broken heart.

In 2020 Michael contracted Covid-19 and was hospitalized for a month. Here he is coming home and wanted to stay in the camper since the footprint was so small. Coco is forever with him. He went downhill after this point.

Michael has been a member of the Lawrenceville Masons for 17 years. Their spiritual strength has helped both Michael and myself through the tough times. After Michael's passing, they become the kindest comfort in the storm.

On Friday afternoon, April 16, 1993, a man opened the door for me at the gym where we were setting up for a craft show the next day, I smiled, thanked him, and walked right past him. The next day, he wrote home and said he had met his future wife. Michael was 28 and I was 40. Thirty-one years with my soul mate...

This photo is sooo typical of Michael...a man, his dogs and a truck lol. Good ol' boy from the hills of Kentucky.

Michael and I barely knew each other growing up, but as we moved into our adult lives we began to reach out and email and talk much more often. He was the surprise guest at our Aunt Georgia's 90th birthday (she adored him and he her) and we spoke much more often in the last 5 years. Funny, smart, talented. We talked about everything and the only thing we had some "constructive" conversations about was his involvement with the Military industrial complex. He cared deeply for Tricia and Christine and Hannah. I will sorely miss my southern cousin, his pictures of the wildlife in his yard and his dear Coco. Such a deeply good person.

Mikey is my first cousin. I have many found memories of him coming home to Kentucky. He was always so kind and sweet. Rest in peace, cousin.

In April of 1993, I was setting up for a craft show at the Greater Atlanta Christian School (GAC) in Lilburn, it was a Friday afternoon. I had an armload of my art and Michael held the gym door open for me. I barely glanced at him, smiled, said "thank you" and walked right past him. The next day while we were exhibiting in separate booths, he wrote home and said he had met his future wife ... clueless lol

He was like a big brother / best friend combination. I will forever cherish my memories of our youth on Billy Compton Branch and later in Pike and a few surrounding counties.

Michael was a very dear and loved cousin. Though we have lived very different lives very far apart, these past few years of reconnecting have meant the world to me. I personally will miss his lovely voice, inquisitive mind, kindness , love for nature and devotion to goodness.
I will be planting two trees here on my land in the Pacific Northwest in honor of him. A white pine representing peace, and a Japanese maple that is a seedling of a seedling from the original tree in our paternal grandmother and grandfather's yard in upstate New York.
I offer condolences to his close family and parents. May you be held in shared love and gratitude for Michael's beautiful life.
