To everyone who loved Mike; I'm sorry for your loss. Mike was someone special, and in my memory he is about 16, with that bouncing walk and crooked grin. Somewhere I know he's still just like that, happy and well.

Uncle Mike losing you has forever changed our family dynamic. You always made me feel welcome at our Wiese family gatherings- no matter how few and far between they became. Though I now stand full grown I will always see you through younger eyes. You seemed to be the life of every party standing tall and cracking jokes, singing "It's a small world" with a helium drenched voice, lifting me up into the trees to climb at a BBQ when I could not reach, or-more recently- people watching and chatting to avoid "the adults" at a baby shower. I try not to regret that I was too far to say goodbye in the end or that I did not get to know you as well as I could have, but instead to rejoice that you are in a better place and relish the time we had.
With love,
Your nephew Max

Mikey:
I know you're making funny faces and telling jokes to God right now, aren't you? That's a good thing, because we know it's all joy, peace and love where you are. Dear Mike's family -- you don't know me but I taught Mike in school and he spent time with "my boys" in the old neighborhood with my family. Please be somewhat consoled that it won't be too long until you all be reunited, though it will seem that way. Just keep the faith !
He was a great guy, a wise and pure soul . . .

Deep sense of loss despite the distance between us since 1982 when I left. We both changed fundamentally but were close in heart and understood each other. I was as close to you as you let your "little brother" be - I idolized you and followed you into high school. I wore your reputation like a blanket. I rejoiced at the birth of your kids and did what I could for them when I was around. I wish I had done more for you now and will never get the chance. I hope heaven has the Mustang for you that I know you wanted. I'll miss you - I loved you.
