Michele Mirabelli Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 14, 2025.
Michele T. Mirabelli, aged 79, of Bal Harbour, Florida, who spent most of her adult life as a true Washingtonian, passed away on September 28th 2020, surrounded by her loving family at her cherished shore house in Belmar, NJ. Michele was the beloved wife of Mario Mirabelli, a prominent Washington attorney who passed away in 2018.

Born in Chicoutimi, Quebec, Michele was the daughter of Dr. George William Tremblay and Charlotte Warren Tremblay. She attended high school at the prestigious Villa Maria in Montreal, where she excelled academically. This achievement opened the door for her to attend Dunbarton College in Washington. Although college was initially challenging due to her limited English, Michele's perseverance, hard work, and strong friendships helped her succeed. It was during this time that she met the love of her life, Mario Mirabelli, who was attending Georgetown University. They married soon after college and made Washington their home, where Mario practiced law and they raised their family.

Michele was deeply involved in her community. She played an active role in T.H.I.S., an organization dedicated to helping diplomats acclimate to Washingtonian life, drawing on her own experiences as an immigrant. She was also an enthusiastic member of the Smithsonian Women's Committee, a talented group of volunteers committed to advancing the Smithsonian's mission to "increase and diffuse knowledge." Additionally, Michele devoted her time to feeding the sick and afflicted.

Michele was a wonderful wife, a loving mother to her children, a cherished mother-in-law, a doting grandmother, an aunt to her extended family both here and abroad, and a friend to many. An avid reader and a lifelong learner, she had a deep appreciation for history, the arts, current events, and all things beautiful. Michele was known for her sage advice, her pursuit of truth, and the way she lived her life with grace and integrity.

She is survived by her son, Michael Mirabelli, and his wife, Victoria; her daughter, Michele Evans, and her husband, Christopher; her son, Philip Mirabelli, and his wife, Rita; her daughter, Carla Mirabelli; and her five grandchildren, Jack Evans and wife Caroline and Colby and husband Michael Long, Giuliana Mirabelli, and Marielle and Warren Mirabelli.
