Michelle Bailey Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Mar. 3 to Mar. 9, 2023.
Michelle Bailey, 50, of Port Richey passed away beside loved ones on February 26th, 2023. Michelle was born August 15, 1972, to Ann Gonthier and Gerard Lachance.

Michelle grew up in New Hampshire where she spent most of her life before moving to Florida in 2021. This was always a dream of hers as she enjoyed the ocean and warm weather. Some of her favorite things to do in Florida were visiting Dunedin, Fred Howard Park, boating with friends, and visiting theme parks.

Michelle was employed many years as a Licensed Practical Nurse. She touched the lives of many patients, and always took time to care for her patients with compassion and attentiveness. She also devoted time to support groups for women struggling with breast cancer, and other motivational groups online. Michelle went through breast cancer five times, and made it a point to share her story to help others. Caregiving came naturally to her, whether it was while nursing or simply supporting others as they navigate life's struggles.

Michelle's main focus was to live her best life. She could often be found on the beach, exploring new places local to her, playing with makeup, on the dance floor, at concerts, and with her family and friends.

Michelle is survived by her fiancé, Michael Murphy; her two children, Jacob and Emily Bailey; her mother, Ann Gonthier; her brother, Scott Lachance; her sister, Mindy Forest; and many aunts, uncles, in laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A celebration of life will be held on March 25th at 2-6pm, located at the American Legion of Merrimack, NH.

43 Baboosic Lake Rd, Merrimack, NH 03054

Michelle and I became instant friends when we met as 6 year olds in Litchfield, NH. So many amazing memories in Girl Scouts, parties, sleepovers, and just growing up together. She moved away to Merrimack when we were in 6th grade, and we lost touch for a while, then Facebook reunited us! Michelle was and always will be a beacon of light in the lives of all she touched. I love you and will miss you always, Michelle.

Michelle, or Myrita as we on the team at Genesis nicknamed her, (maybe for her fondness for margaritas) was a caring, accomplished, diligent and brave part of our team for many years. She had a wicked sense of humor and is a bright light gone too soon.
So many good times Myrita

I remember Michelle Bailey as an amazing woman and a wonderful nurse who was so good to the residents at pleasant view nursing home. She was always kind and a beautiful smile. She was the sunshine to many people she met. It was an honor and privilege to know her thru pleasant view to have Michelle as a friend. Michelle, you will never be forgotten, you will always be in our hearts. Love you always. Shannon.

Michelle and I enjoyed hanging out by the camp fire doing the pole dance with Kerry Watson. What great memories. Wish I could have had one more time with her. Love you Michelle with all my heart. I am thankful that you are no longer in pain.
