Michelle Hicks

Michelle Renee Hicks, 45, of Chandler, Arizona, passed away on August 1, 2023. Michelle was born on September 18, 1977, in Brockport, New York, to Cindy and Richard Hicks.

Michelle had a larger than life personality, always radiating laughter, smiles, and brightness wherever she went. She had a positive outlook in any situation and was known for her unwavering optimism. Michelle had a heart that always prioritized the happiness of others and was always ready for an adventure, willing to travel at a moment's notice. She had a deep love for her animals, family, and most importantly, her son. Michelle was a strong advocate for her son, always ensuring his needs were met. She was the type of person who would give the shirt off her back for any friend or family member.

Michelle is survived by her beloved son, Julian Quezada, as well as her mother, Cindy Hicks, her father, Richard Hicks, her brothers, Paul Hicks (Brandy Helms) and Todd Hicks (Stacy Matlock), and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, 4 great nieces, and 1 great nephew. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Dirk and Beverly Van Wyngaarden, her paternal grandparents, Richard and Shirley Hicks, and her nephew, Caden Hicks.

Michelle attended Apache Junction High School and later pursued higher education at Scottsdale Community College. She dedicated 22 years of her career to US West Airline-US Airways-American Airlines, retiring from the industry. Michelle then spent 3 years as an HR Regional Center Coordinator at Amazon.

In her free time, Michelle indulged in her hobbies, which included being an avid traveler, a lover of holidays, and a Dutch Bros coffee enthusiast. She also had a deep affection for animals.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Sunday, August 27th, from 12pm to 4pm at La Casita clubhouse in Dobson Ranch. It will be a time to remember and honor Michelle's vibrant spirit and the impact she had on the lives of those around her.

Michelle Hicks will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Her infectious laughter, unwavering positivity, and love for others will forever remain in the hearts of her loved ones. May she rest in eternal peace.
