Michelle Kay Rogus April 21, 1964 October 21, 2017 Michelle Kay Rogus, 53, of Snow Shoe, passed away after a courageous battle of cancer on Saturday, October 21, 2017, at her home. Born on April 21, 1964, in Bellefonte, she was the daughter of Delbert W. Meeker and his wife, Rose, of Bellefonte and Nancy M. Kachik Puhalla of Julian. On August 25, 1984, in Snow Shoe, she married Michael J. Rogus, who survives at home. Michelle is a 1982 graduate of Bald Eagle Area High School. She was Personal Care Aid in the Bald Eagle School District. She had the knowledge of braille and taught it to her personal care students. She was a member of the Queen of Archangels Roman Catholic Parish Chapel in Snow Shoe. She was a Sunday School teacher for 14 years, and ran the summer Bible School from many years. She also held the Christmas Eve Mass for Children for many years. Michelle was very patriotic and had a strong love for our country. She was a member of the D.U.V., (Daughters of Union Veterans), where she was a Patriotic Instructor. She enjoyed genealogy research and was Vice President of the Burnside Historical Society. She liked all sports involving teams from Pittsburgh, Penn State Football, traveling, reading, walking, and watching old black and white movies. She enjoyed working in her flower garden and making floral arrangements. She loved to spend time with her family and large circle of friends. Michelle is survived by her parents, husband, four children; Laura M. Rogus of Snow Shoe, Michael J. Rogus, Jr of Bellefonte, Sarah E. Hamilton and her husband, Cullen, of Clarence, and Jonathon D. Rogus of Snow Shoe. She is also survived by four brothers; Delbert W. Meeker, Jr and his wife, Lea, of Murrieta CA, Joshua E. Meeker and his wife, Nicole, of Woodbury, CT, Albert J. "AJ" Puhalla of Clarence, and Farrand Ray and his wife, Allie, of State College, two sisters; Summer J. Meeker and her husband, Michael Miller, of Hebron, CT and Jennifer L. Murray and her husband, Daniel, of Clarence, and by numerous nieces and nephews. Michelle was preceded in death by a daughter, Kristie Marie Rogus. Public visitation will be on Tuesday, October 24, 2017, from 2-4 and 6-8pm with a rosary service at 7:45pm at the Daughenbaugh Funeral Home in Snow Shoe. Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, October 25, 2017, at 11am at the Queen of Archangels Roman Catholic Parish Chapel in Snow Shoe with Father Michael Wolfe officiating. Burial will be at St. Michael's Catholic Cemetery in Clarence. Memorial contributions can be made to the Family Hospice/Home Nursing Agency, 201 Chestnut Ave., Altoona. PA 16601 or to Centre County PAWS, 1401 Trout Rd., State College, PA 16801. Arrangements have been entrusted to Daughenbaugh Funeral Home, 106 W. Sycamore St., Snow Shoe. I was saddened to hear of Michelle's passing. The world has lost a wonderful person but heaven has an angel. I knew Michelle from seeing her while teaching at Bald Eagle which makes her passing even harder to take. My thoughts and prayers go to her family.

Michelle has truly been a gift from God. She has continually brought the Light of Christ to all those around her and her dedication to serving others has truly been remarkable. It has been a great honor to have known this great woman. Eternal rest grant unto her O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May she rest in peace. In Christ we will all be reunited again.
