I got to meet him on the set of Fall Guys. We were at the Ambassador Hotel in Los Angeles. My uncle was Lee Majors makeup artist. I was introduced to him while there. I was 18 and from Oklahoma. He was so nice and friendly. I went home thinking I was a stuntman now.

Thank you sir for all those great stunts on The Fall Guy where I got to know it was you doubling Lee Majors in the stunts. I heard of your passing with great sadness when I learned about it last year and just saw today this guest book, so I had to pay you tribute for your great carreer as stuntman... You must've had a great professionnal life... Thanks for those ever lasting stunt memories on The Fall Guy...

My condolences to the Gilbert family. A fond memory I have of my father was at a parent teacher night in Agua Dulce. My father (Bob Bolls,LAFD) and Mickey were leaning on the fence out front. My father was telling Mickey how he had broken ribs falling through a roof at a fire in the valley earlier that week. My father said they put him on a spine board to take him to the hospital and he could tell you if they ran over a dime heads or tails up. Mr. Gilbert chuckled with a nod, he obviously understood rib fractures. Great memory of two men being providers for their families. God bless both of them, rest in peace.

"Uncle" Mickey was the older brother of my uncle Fred. Fred was married to my aunt. So it was a joke that I called him uncle and referred to myself as a cousin to the cousins because my cousins were cousins to mickeys kids and Fred´s kids were step-siblings to the kids my aunt had before marrying Fred. Mickey was always very kind and friendly when I saw him the few times I did see him and his family at my cousins weddings or uncle Fred´s memorial service. Mickey and Yvonne were always surprised I remembered Them but they were just lovely people. I´m sad to know he has left us but he lives on in the movies and tv shows we all love and he will be greatly missed. As a background actor I´ve also done a few stunts on set myself and it´s hard, dangerous work but Mickey set the standard and his legacy, skill and knowledge carries on in his boys who are stunt masters in their own right. The legacy he leaves is unmatched. May God comfort them and give them peace as they navigate life without such a great, kind and talented man to guide them. RIP Mickey...you were the best!

Yvonne - Lynn Chappell Flaaten & I were married in 1962 - just like you & Mickey.
We just learned that Mickey had passed away in February & we are very sad. We hope that you & your family are doing well - but we're sure that you all are missing Mickey a lot - especially you. You will be in our daily prayers.
Mickey had an amazing life & career and from what we've read your sons & grandsons have followed in his footsteps ... which is very kool.
We didn't realize that you guys had moved to Camarillo - where we'd lived for 20 years. If we had known that we would have contacted you & taken you to lunch or dinner when we were down there - staying in an Airbnb - last September.
Take care & we may give you a call one of these days.

Mickey, meeting you in Santa Fe was a true highlight in my life. Your work brought Yvonne into my life, I am for ever grateful. Every movie we see, we are looking for the Gilbert name and we let everyone around us know we know the Gilbert´s! Your faith took you straight through the Pearly Gates, no detours! Your Saddle-Pal was waiting for you, He called you home. Now you prepare for us. Thank you! Yvonne and family, my brother gave me Mickey`a book for my birthday, I love it! May Jesus give you strength and may the Holy Spirit give your hearts peace. Yvonne, I think of you often, I sure miss you! We love you all, God bless you! Yolanda and Mike Turner

Uncle Mickey,
As I'm sure you and Aunt Yvonne knew, you were my first crush! It was a BIG crush for a 2 year old. All cowboys were then measured against you! Thank you for always being so kind and loving. I love you and miss you, Aunt Yvonne. My deepest condolences to you and your family.

Mickey
You taught me so much on the first season of Fall Guy. I’ll never forget you. We did stunts without CGI. You’re passion was only match by your love for
family and friends.
RIP Mickey.
