Micki Mooney Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Jun. 26 to Jun. 28, 2020.
On Wednesday, June 24, 2020, God took Micki into His everlasting arms, while hundreds of friends gathered at Calvary Tabernacle to pray for this beloved lady and her family. "Sister Mooney", as she was affectionately called by the congregation, had served alongside her husband, Rev. Paul D. Mooney as the Pastor's Wife of Calvary Tabernacle located in Fountain Square for the past 32 years. She was a servant of Christ, an adoring wife, a loving mother, and enthusiastic grandmother, and everyone's encourager.

She was born September 6, 1944 in Lilbourn, MO, to the late Johnie Wesley and Clars Jewell Taylor Harden. Micki moved with her family at age 9 to Windfall, IN, where she graduated from Windfall High School in 1962. She was married to Rev. Paul D. Mooney on June 28, 1963 in Windfall, IN. They shared a great, enduring love.

Micki was a faithful Pastor's wife who worked alongside Rev. Mooney serving three congregations in Muskegon, MI, Shelby, MI, and in Indianapolis, IN filling the role with grace and dignity. She was a gifted musician and at Pastor Mooney's request she lent her unique style and flair to the organ as they traveled the globe ministering in Word and song.

Micki served as student counselor and instructor at Indiana Bible College for more than 30 years. She taught by example how to live a life of true faith through hardship, pain, loss, and sickness. Yet, through it all, she had a special way of making people feel her love and her genuine care.

Visitation will be Monday, June 29, 2020 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Calvary Tabernacle, 902 Fletcher Avenue, and Tuesday, June 30, 2020 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. The Homegoing Celebration will begin at 11:00 a.m.

Micki is survived by her devoted husband of 57 years, Rev. Paul D. Mooney; son, Jonathan Paul Mooney; daughters, Adena Cheryl Pedigo (Rev. Tim) and Jaye Mooney Rodenbush (Rev. Robert); nine grandchildren, Justine Jaye Winwood (Jeremy), Jacquelyn Kaye Mooney, Danna Pogue (Harrison), Adena Maci Pedigo, Rev. Georgeon Paul Pedigo, Daci Renee Mooney, Rylee Brooke Mooney, Micki Evangeline Rodenbush and Robert Mooney Rodenbush; one great-granddaughter, Maybelle Geranium Eisentrout; brother, Kenneth Wayne Harden (Beverly); and two sisters-in-law, Judith Ann Harden and Maxine Harden. Micki was preceded in death by three brothers, Earl Eugene Harden, Rev. John Wesley "Jay" Harden, and Harold Glen "Dutch" Harden; and one sister, Peggy Ann Harden.

Services are entrusted to Shirley Brothers Thompson Road Chapel, 3333 E. Thompson Road, Indianapolis. www.shirleybrothers.com.

She was a light loving and kind when I went to church I would look to the left and she would always be there sitting and watching Brother Moonie preaching. I changed churches and came back and I went to her and asked could I come back . She sweetly smiled and said you are always welcomed here you are home ... find your seat and smiled that beautiful smile . I did not know she passed I know she is in heaven and how many people who learned from Mrs. Moonie and learned by example love and joy in Jesus .. and so much love towards her husband Pastor Moonie.. my heart does not hurt for her but for Pastor so much love between both of them a never ending love In Jesus Name I pray for Pastor. Much love

Micki loved deeply. Her caring heart? and easy smile will not be forgotten.
Her authenticity endeared her to a multitude. Like all people associate with greatness- Micki overcame many obstacles in her path. A true servant hearted leader.
Our thoughts are with her beloved husband, and soulmate. Together they made a great team, impacting their world for Christ. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of her children, and those she touched with genuine love.
Call this woman blessed. She loved her Lord passionately. We will always treasure her memoriy, her joy of life.
We honor a wonderful lady, our dear friend. See you again on some bright morning on yonder shore.

Sister Mooney was a Godly woman. She was with me the day l received the Holyghost. She stood by my side at the altar when l received the Holyghost for the first time at a Youth Rally. At that altar she asked me a question. I said yes it was true. She encouraged me to pray until I was certain that l had received the Holyghost. Which l did with her by my side. Only this time when l spoke in tongues l immediately felt a great joy and assurance from God that l had received His Spirit without a doubt! After three months of seeking, I truly had received my hearts desire. All l could do was smile! It was infectious. I became an encourager to others as a result. I was the last person Rev. Paul D.Mooney baptized in the horse trough In Muskegon Ml. before the addition was added on with the new baptismal. That was back in the days of the 6 week revivals. My cheeks would burn from the tears shed from the night before. Sis. Mooney would play the organ and Bro. Mooney would sing a duet with his beautiful wife. She was lovely! People would dance and worship. That couples worship inspired others! No one wanted to leave the church. She was a wonderful mother who deeply loved her children. I remember Adenas first solo. Jaye was young and sold some of her plush toys to raise money for Gods kingdom. I remember praying for Jonathan. I wanted to love my children like that some day. I was 20yrs old. This couple was a team. Committed to God, each other, and their family. In six months they poured more into me than one might have the privilege to receive in a lifetime. Then l moved to Illinois. That was 38 yrs ago. I owe a great debt to this wonderful kind caring woman who made sacrifices for people like me. A Godly woman! To her devoted husband, an Ambassador for Gods Kingdom, may God grant you the abundant peace that passes all understanding in the loss of your true love. To her children, her love lives on in you and your children. Remember ❤ Love is Eternal. Please know my heart goes out to you sincerely. I believe God will be near to you all as the tears fall. This Pandemic has put a physical distance between us when we would much rather all be together, but remember it cant stop you from being wrapped in Gods loving arms! Group Hug to all my Brothers and Sisters of the faith! My heart goes out to all of you. May you be blessed of God at Sister Micki Mooneys Homecoming Celebration. With love and prayers!
