Midge Lindenmann Obituary
Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 7, 2025.
Midge (Lang) Lindenmann, a woman of grace, resilience, and boundless love, passed away peacefully at her home on March 17, 2025, just shy of her 96th birthday. Her life was a testament to adventure, elegance, and the enduring power of family.
Born in 1929 in Rio Hondo, Texas, to William and Ruth (Hatch) Lang, Midge faced early adversity with courage. After losing her mother at a young age, she and her sister Pepper were lovingly raised in Chicago by their Aunt Grace and Uncle Zee. These formative years shaped her steadfast spirit and deep appreciation for family bonds.
Midge's impeccable sense of style was one of her hallmarks. For her, fashion was more than clothing-an expression of self-respect and joy. Whether dressed for a glamorous evening or a quiet day at home, she exuded elegance and confidence.
With her beloved husband Fred by her side, Midge embraced the world with curiosity and enthusiasm. Together, they explored countless countries, immersing themselves in local cultures and collecting unique treasures. Her cherished collection of bells from around the globe is a testament to these adventures-a tradition lovingly carried on by her family and friends.
At home, Midge's passion for cooking brought people together. From gourmet gatherings to the cherished Christmas morning tradition of Eggs Benedict, she created meals as memorable as the moments they marked. Her Swedish pancakes were legendary among her grandsons-Garrett Lindenmann, Austin Hovey, and Pierce Hovey-who adored the time they spent sharing stories and laughter with her.
Midge is now reunited with Fred after 14 years apart. She leaves behind a legacy of love in her children, David and Amy (Hovey); her grandsons; her sister, Billie; her nieces and nephews; Colleen Deery (David's partner) and Stephanie Kong (Austin's fiancée); her beloved cat Maggie; and countless friends who cherished her warmth and insight.
Her memory lives on in the meals we prepare, our journeys, and the beauty we find in life's simple joys.
