Mikahela Speedon Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 21, 2024.
Our wonderful Mike (Mikahela) Speedon passed away on May 25, 2024. Mike was born on December 4, 1987 in San Antonio, TX. He is survived by his mother, Maria Trejo; his wife, April Speedon; three children: Regan, Leonidas, and Rogue ; Sister, Millie Speedon-Morin (Robert); brother, Terry Speedon (Jessica); as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Mike served in the United States Air Force and was a proud veteran. He served 2 tours in the Middle East and received the Army Achievement Medal for his efforts during his deployment in 2010. Afterwards, he made roots with his family in Longview, WA, where he worked as a power generation technician for Cummins NW. He then took an early retirement to spend the last 2 years to focus on being home with his family and raising his children.

To know Mike was to love him. His smile and boyish laugh lit up the room. He worked very hard and always put 100% effort into the things he was passionate about. If he could give you the shirt off of his back or his last dollar, he would do it no questions asked.

Mike loved serving his country, fast and loud cars, the Dallas Cowboys, and golf. He spent countless hours in the garage perfecting his golf game and it truly was his passion. He was happiest when he was on the golf course- quiet, focused, and at peace.

Mike was full of life and his presence will be missed. He was charismatic, entertaining, and always did what he could to help those around him.

Mike "Mikey" will be missed tremendously. He was truly one of a kind, and will forever remain in our hearts as our HERO.

I never knew Mike personally. But my bestfriend, Regan, his daughter has shared so many memories about him. Such as, how much he liked Golf, and Taylor Swift. But especially his love for other people. Mike will forever be missed.

My strongest memory of mike was when we deployed together in 2010 I believe. We FOB hopped all over Iraq and then the last stop ended in Afghanistan. We were always clowning around, a doing dumb stuff to make eachother and the entire team laugh during a tough deployment. He was always joking around!! It was a good team and he was a big part of it. He will never be forgotten!
