Mike Chavez Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 26, 2024.
We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Mike Chavez on April 4, 2024, at home in Leander, Texas. Mike was an amazing brother, uncle, great uncle, and friend. He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.

Mike (Mikey) was born in Kansas City, Missouri to Martin and Ruth Chavez on September 27, 1950. He was one of ten children. His career took him to the IT world of Seattle, WA. Upon his retirement, he moved to Austin, Texas. His Texas family's warm embrace filled his final years with love, support, friends, laughter, and fairways.

Mike leaves behind his loving siblings Ruben (Mary) Chavez, Anne (Dave) Baker, Rebecca (Bob) Perkins, Abbie (Tom) Crowder, and Ed (Jill) Chavez and all of his nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Preceding him in death are his parents, Ruth and Martin Chavez, and his siblings Martin Chavez, Paul Chavez, Mary Colaw, and Martha Chavez. In their reunion, we find solace.

In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to the American Cancer Society in his honor. https://donate.cancer.org/?campaign=honormemorialm...

A Celebration of Mike's life will be held at the Bednarczuk residence on Saturday, April 27, 2024, at 3 PM to honor his memory. A Celebration will also be held in Missouri with details to be announced. Family and friends are encouraged to share stories and celebrate the life of a great man.

We hold tight to the memories, laughter, and time we are so thankful to have spent with Mike. Rest in peace, dear Mikey, until we meet again.
