Mike made a wonderful impact on our impressionable minds. I had him for Speech at Highland, and loved all his drama productions. My condolences to his family. Know that he was loved by all the lives he touched, and that we are better people for knowing him.

I'll never forget Mike. I was Abhorson in his creative production of "Measure for Measure" at Highland College in 1977. He could take a crew of amatures and make something really good out of it. He could give you confidence when you had none.
Mike will be missed.

E. Mike was the first person I saw when I hit my classes at Highland in 1977/78 and the last person I saw at night after rehearsals. I loved him. He is my mentor and I will never forget his smile, craziness, laugh and his constant guidance. I am what I am today because of Mike Dobbins. Peace. I hope he is one of the people who meets me when I pass on.

Mr. Dobbins was my Speech and Communications teacher at Highland, 30 some years ago. He was a great teacher, constantly challenging us and meanwhile keeping us entertained. My condolences to his wife and family. Please know that he touched many lives and will be long remembered.

Gail,

I was so sorry to hear of Mike's passing. Know that you and your children are in my thoughts and prayers. Mike was a great guy and I always enjoyed the opportunity to talk with him about everyday things, whether it was about an event on campus, an upcoming play, or some other current event in Freeport. His energy and enthusiasm was contagious and so often he brought a smile to my face. The two of you always brightened my day and added a spark to what ever you were apart of.

I wish you peace and strength in the days ahead.

Joel

Mike Dobbins and I were fellow cast members in "Inherit The Wind" at the Winneshiek Playhouse in Freeport in 1968. He was wonderful in the role of Henry Drummond (which was based on Clarence Darrow. I had long since lost track of Mike, and I'm sorry to hear of his passing.

Mike was such an inspiring teacher for our drama class. He taught so you wanted to learn. One of the great teachers we had the pleasure to know.
