Mike Kolen was my dad's brother....Just like my dad & my other uncle Mark Kolen were to me, Uncle Mike also seemed larger than life and on top of that a well known lb for Auburn & the No Name defense of the Dolphins in the 70's. But the coolest, best, larger than life thing about Uncle Mike was his faith in & proclamation of Jesus! I take pleasure in the memories of Uncle Mike and I am reminded to relearn some things from him and all the Kolen brothers lives that I perhaps forgot a long the way......that nothing is more important than your relationship to the Lord, to live life for Him, to stay in that book, to spread the news, and to run hard....finish strong.....and keep the faith. Uncle Mike set a great example of living a life of faith. He is greatly missed by so many lives that God touched thru him because once he was called, he surrendered himself to the Father's will. Great Uncle.....Great Father
...Great Husband.....Great Friend..... & Great Man that served an Infinitly Greater God

To the family, many, many friends, and fans of this great person who played and loved the game of football. Mr. Mike "Captain Crunch" Kolen was a Hall of Fame quarterback who led the Kansas City Chiefs to a victory in Super Bowl IV. Mr. Mike "Captain Crunch" Kolen was a linebacker with the Miami Dolphins who won two Super Bowls with the team, including during their "perfect" 1972-73 season. May you find comfort in your wealth of fond memories together with Mr. Mike "Captain Crunch" Kolen. May the love and many, many special memories you shared with your devoted loved one show how much your life was touched by him. May the God of comfort bless your grieving hearts with strength, loving kindness and peace as the world copes with the loss of Mr. Mike "Captain Crunch" Kolen. We will never forget that Mr. Len Dawson was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1985, what a tremendous goal and accomplishment.

I met Mike when I came to Auburn to plan a Crusade for Christ. He became our co-chairman and was a genuine Christian leader, influencing many to faith in Christ. A true Christian gentleman and witness for Christ. My life was better for having known him.

Rest in peace, Mike
