MIKE LOUDERMILK Obituary
On Monday, October 8, 2012. Beloved husband of Kristin (Aul) Loudermilk; father of Tammy, Tina, Michelle, Jackie, April Loudermilk, Aliya Brandt and the late Shelley Domek; brother of Pete, Frankie, Shirley, Sue, Charlotte Panagopoulos; survived also by 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Family and friends may call Saturday 12-3:30 p.m. at O'BRIENS, 3724 California at Coopers Aves., N.S., where there will be a Funeral Service at 3:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to O'Briens Funeral Home to help defray the costs of Mike's funeral expenses.

And Death heard the summons, And he leaped on his fastest horse. Pale as a sheet in the moonlight. Up the golden street, Death galloped, and the hoofs of his horse struck fire from the gold, but they didn't make no sound.
Up Deaths road to the Great White Throne, And waited for God's command.
And God said: Go down, Death, go down and find Brother Michael. He's borne the burden and heat of the day, he's labored long in my vineyard, And he's tired. . .he's weary.
Go down, Death, and bring him to me.
While we were watching round his bed, he turned his eyes and looked away, He saw what we could not see; He saw Old Death Coming like a falling star.
But Death didn't frighten Brother Michael. He looked to him like a welcome friend and He whispered to us: I'm going home, I'm going home. Then he smiled and closed his eyes.
And Death took him up like a baby as he lay in his icy arms but Brother Michael did not feel no chill.
And Death began to ride again. . . Up beyond the evening star, Out beyond the morning star. . . Into the glittering light of glory on the Great White Throne; there he laid Brother Michael on the loving breast of Jesus.
And Jesus took his own hand and wiped away his tears, he smoothed the furrows from his face.
And the angels sang a little song. . .And Jesus rocked him in his arms. . .
And kept a-saying: Take your rest, Take your rest, Take your rest.
Weep not, Weep not for Brother Michael is not Dead: He is resting in the bosom of Jesus.

When I think of Mike, it makes me smile. He had a way with words.. He thaught me things I use today. What I loved most about Mike. It my worst of times.. We will all miss this prehistoric predecessor who gave all of us such a hard time ~ only because he loved all of us. I had the privilege of his friendship over the last 20 years, and could take this meeting hostage telling the world about this man who played such a huge part of who I am today. I'll not be saying any goodbyes ~ I also had the privilege of being a part of Mike's process in learning about the "Original Big Book", and I know that I'll see him on the other side.
