I just heard of Dr. Murphy's passing. I am so sorry. My son has been a patient at Childrens for many years when he worked there and we would always look forward to seeing him. He was so friendly and would always joke around with my son. Prayers for peace at this very difficult time.

I was very saddened to hear the news about Mike. Though we were not close personal friends I always had deep respect for "Murphy" & his family. We were junior & high school classmates / teammates. My sincerest condolences for Murphy's family and friends.

Dr. Mike was a family friend and the person who changed the course of my mother's life. My mom began working for Dr. Mike when I was little, and it defined her career. Over time, my mom's and Mike's friendship grew and our families spent great times together. He had the greatest laugh and best sense of humor. He has left a giant hole in the lives of many. He truly made a difference in the life of people who knew him. Love you Dr Mike. Rest In Peace, Jeremy

Mike touched so any people in his short 60 years, so many great memories and he will be missed dearly. The hole in my heart will never be filled and will forever miss him. Mike C Murphy was one of a kind, the biggest contagious laugh, smile, kind gentle man. He walked in my life over 30 years ago at a time that was really hard for me, but he filled it with love, kindness and a friendship like no other. God Bless you Mike and I will see you again. All my love, Kim (save some chocolate kisses for me)

Mike Murphy was a key member of our team where we treated hundred of pediatric cancer patients at UTSW in Dallas over many years. His sedation and anesthesia was delivered with impressive skill and care all the while putting the patients and family at ease with competence and humor. He was always smart, kind, sassy, and interesting. I loved talking to him. I'm really sorry to hear of his passing but am grateful that I got to know him.
