Words truly cannot express the deep feelings of sadness aw well as the sense of personal and professional loss I am experiencing right now as I write to honor the memory of one of my mentors and (later on) friends, Milan V. Dimic. "Professor Dimic", as I insisted on calling him for the more than twenty five years that I knew and communicated with him,was that rare intellectual who was not only an extraordinary teacher and scholar but also a kind and witty soul! He loved books but loved his fellow human beings even more. He helped to make his students better scholars and better human beings and he also reminded everyone he came across that the world of literature is our world. What a guy! I can go on and on in talking about all of his positive qualities but,, for now, I will simply say, "he was a good person." This, truly, is our loss!

Prof. Dimic was an amazing person. He was a remarkable professor, who taught his classes with intelligence, grace, humour, and humility.

He was a genuinely supportive educator, with a talented ability to inspire his students. A great ambassador of learning, he was generous, kind, and someone who truly served his students.

Not only was he one of the wisest individuals I have ever met, he was also one of the most fun. I remember how a mischievous gleam would sparkle in his eyes and he'd share a wonderful story, laughing in a way that tickled everyone who could hear him. I am very thankful I had a chance to know you, Prof. Dimic. I miss you, professor. With love.

Prof. Milan Dimic will be remembered for his many contributions in the literary field, over many years, both here and overseas. He was a kind and considerate man. May he rest in peace, and may his memory be eternal.
