In memory of
March 6, 2010
I recently heard that Micky passed because her daughter took the time to send the memorial annoucement to me. She was the most inspiring person I have met! I had the privilege to meet Micky while I worked at the Chanhassen Bank. I was intrigued by her stories of learning to be a pilot because my husband had just become a private pilot. I have been watching the video's about her life. I hope that someone will write a book about her life and her contibutions to the history of women in aviation. Micky was at the forefront of the womans movement. I will miss her and will keep her memory alive.

I'll never forget sharing a bumpy, turbulent flight out of Chicago in 2003 with Micky. While I, half her age, gripped my armrests, white-knuckled, Micky sat back and smiled and told stories about test piloting the B29 during its accelerated development. Micky was fearless and feisty and fun fun fun. We loved going out to lunch whenever I visited Minnesota. She would eat like a sparrow and push most of her food toward me and my family - except for sweet potatoes loaded with butter and brown sugar, which she would devour. Dear Micky, may you rest in comfort and joy, up there where every meal starts with dessert.
