Mildred Elizabeth Black, 87, passed away on February 17, 2014 at home in Groton, Ma. She was born on March 27, 1926 in Haverhill, Ma.
Mildred graduated from Medford High School in Medford, Ma in 1945. She worked for Hardware Mutual in Boston as an Administrative Assistant where she met her husband.
Mildred married Bennett R. Black in November 1949 in Niagara Falls, N.Y. They were happily married for 64 years. Mildred was a member of Groton Women?s Club, a Cub Scout Den Mother and an active participant in the Well Child Clinic program. She enjoyed raising her family, sitting in the sun, spending time with friends and traveling to the far corners of the earth.
Mildred is survived by her Husband Bennett of Groton, Ma; her sons Donald and his wife Alicia, Robert and his wife Cindy, Bennett Jr. and his wife Susan, and daughter Lucy and her husband David Alexander all of Groton, Ma.; her grandchildren Katherine Bach, Peter Black, Megan Black, Stephen Black, Ashley Black, Shelby Morris, Nicole Black, Callie Black, Kelly Alexander and Benjamin Alexander; her great-granddaughter Chloe Bach.
Mildred was preceded in death by her parents Lester J. and Elizabeth B. Morris of Medford, Ma.

A Graveside Service will be held 11 AM Saturday May 31, at the Groton Cemetery. Relatives and friends kindly invited.
