Mildred (Millie) Brandt, 84, of Rochester, died Sunday, Aug. 30, 2015, at Golden Living Center East.

Mildred was born April 25, 1931, to Carl and Laura (Mundt) Schroeder, in Steele County. She graduated from Stewartville High School in 1949. She married Arthur Brandt in 1953 and spent the next two years in Norfolk, Va. They returned to Rochester where the raised their five children. Millie enjoyed baking, quilting, gardening and camping. She traveled extensively with her husband after his retirement. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. Millie was both a Girl Scout and Cub Scout leader and was a charter member at Christ Lutheran Church in Rochester. She is currently a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Rochester.

Millie is survived by her husband; her three daughters, Laura (Dick) Darst of Byron, Vickie (Ken) Leinen of Lismore and Judy Brandt of Rochester; two sons, Douglas (Leah) Brandt of Rochester, and Gregory (Nancy) of Verona, Wis.;  four grandsons, six granddaughters, and one great-grandson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister and a brother.

The funeral for Mildred Violet Brandt will be 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 4, 2015, at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Rochester, with Pastor Adam Koglin officiating. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday in River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home, and one hour before the service at church on Friday.

My heart goes out to all of you. I enjoyed the times I spent with your family and joyfully remember the homemade rolls your mom made. She was such a happy person and her smile will be missed.
