Mildred Loving

My white aunt worked in an office building next to a dental college in Kansas City, MO. Everyday she would eat lunch at a diner where a Chinese dental student also ate. They became friends and then more. In 1954 they decided to get married but they had to travel to Leavenworth, KS to get married. My aunt is still mad about it. Evidently, she started a trend in our family. We now have two kinds of Indians, a Brazilian, a Mexican, and a Cuban as well as four half Chinese cousins.

Thank God for you and your loving husband Mrs. Loving. Your legacy of LOVE lives on. Thanks to you and your Richard for the labor of love. You were both agents of change. I just watched the movie. I believe that God changed history through both of you. RIP Mildred and Richard Loving of VA. Both of you are together for ever in heaven. Now VA is indeed for lovers. The whole universe is for lovers, cause conquers hate.

May your soul rest in heaven. God got you and God know your heart.

African and indigenous....I think Mildred was a woman of grace and dignity. Something about her manner reminds me of myself....I wish I could have met her. We reentered this realm the same year. I don't have an immediate biracial family, however, I know what it feels like to have a bicultural engagement....We didn't make it to marriage. Blessings Mildred, (the Queen that you are) for your family always and may you Rest in Peaceful Power for for Eternity....(In the arms of your beloved husband, Richard)

Mrs. Loving, I do not know you personally, but you have impacted my life in so many ways. Everything you and your husband did to strike down miscegenation laws in America has had a profound impact on my life as well as many others. My fiancé and I are an interracial couple as well and to celebrate the Supreme Court decision in the Loving v Virginia case, we have decided to get married on the 51st anniversary. In just a few short days we will be married, but I wanted to thank you beforehand because without you our marriage would not be legal. Thank you. May you and your husband Rest In Peace.

The Lovings' fight for justice and humanity did not go in vain. People have used God's name for years to separate people from their loved ones and there is no hate in Christ. They are both heroes that paved the way for so many. Rest on! You will never be forgotten!!

The movie Loving was beautiful. Both Richard and Mildred were brave. I think the thought of having to live without the person you love was far scarier then facing jail for them! Proud of them both, sad that Richard was killed so early on. Another problem facing us all. Richard was killed by a drunk driver. Mildred never remarried and died relatively young. I believe true love never dies! They are together again. Eternally. God bless and favor them.

I cannot stop crying after watching the movie a few minutes ago. Really sad because she lost her loving husband and because his life ended so early. May they rest in peace ♥

Just saw the movie last night; it was great; what a shame two people who were in love had to go through what they did. Thanks to them though, the law was changed for the whole country!
It was very upsetting to find out that Richard was killed in the crash. Mildred was such a brave woman to speak out about the unfairness that existed at that time.
She and her husband Richard were heroes....bless their souls!

I am way late to find this and sign, but i want to express how strong the Loving's were and how much what they did meant. It changed the way the World treated interracial marriage. Even though there were and still are people out there who are very ignorant, it opened a door into how beautiful love can be. God Bless them and i am thankful for their story. I am a part of an interracial marriage and have beautiful children. Love knows no limits or boundaries. May they be reunited in Heaven.

I watched the HBO movie entitled "Loving." It is a beautiful love story that showed me that love conquers all. I learned that unconstitutional laws can and should be changed, so that people can live their lives with dignity. I wish that I could have met the Loving couple. We are lucky to have the Loving children. I wish I could meet them. God Bless the family always. I will keep the family in my prayers.

I thank God for a love like this. Color has no restriction when love is involved! What if God loved us according to our differences, where would we be.

Saw the movie on HBO, love it! It was very emotional, had seen a short story a few years back & so glad a movie was made. God's word say's that we're all created in His image & He has created humans, this earth for all of us to enjoy. What a true loving couple. Wish they could have lived a lot more years & I could have met them in person.

Very courageous, strong woman. Wish there were more people like her in this country to fight for freedom and equality.

Beautiful example of the power of love

I was appalled by what the Loving family had to endure. There was so much love there. May God bless the whole family.

Mr and Mrs. Loving A great movie and a strong loving marriage. May they rest in peace. I came from a very mixed family in the state of Texas. I grew up with a mixed family all though out my life. My 3rd generation of grand parents were mixed my grand mother was black /native American my grand father was white / native American. My hold family and grand children are all mixed as well. I just got done watching the movie Loving. That was a very educational and touching movie.

She was a courages lady very soft spoken, humble, I would have done the same for my husband & children, no matter what no one would tear my family down, the story was amazing, such a beautiful couple & children, we pray they are all well and happy...

My condolences to your family they were very courageous and brave and therr story and love for each other will forever live in our hearts!

I saw the movie, great and humbling. As an African-American from the south I remember those times well. What courage,faith and family support it must have taken for this couple to endure what they did. My condolences to the Loving family. I'm forever grateful to Richard and Mildred Loving for changing a course of history.

I learned of this story years ago and glad that finally a movie on the big screen, not TV, was made. My family went thru some similar issues when we came to this country.

The Loving children & grandchildren should be very proud. LOVE can conquer many a things...and the Lovings showed us how.

Thank god they had each other' and God .i seen the movie and cried but God was with them all the way .
