John Alfred "Sac" Singleton

John Alfred Singleton 'Sac'-- a native of Chicago, IL and resident of Montrose, AL, born July 14, 1947 departed this life on Tuesday, June 6, 2006 at a local hospital. He was a member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church where he served as a member of the Men's Choir, the Usher Board and Media Ministry. He was a life member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity and a retired employee of International Paper Co. He leaves to cherish his precious memory, a loving and devoted wife, Jean Yelding Singleton; one devoted son, Carlos Yelding; one devoted daughter, Tempie Singleton, all of Montrose, AL; devoted mother, Arvetta Sigleton and one sister, Alfreda Greene, both of Prichard, AL; devoted mother in law, Mary B. Yelding, Daphne, AL; four sisters in law, five brothers in law, one uncle, Irie (Geneva) Singleton, Port Arthur, TX; six aunts, Garland Johnson, Susie and Mary Lee Gaillard, Lois Singleton, all of Mobile, AL, DeEster Walker and Fannie Dale, both of Prichard, AL; three god-children, Khalil Yelding, Daphne, AL, Kareem Mulkey, Jr., Mobile, AL, Mobile, AL and Shelby Blackwell, Tallahassee, FL and his Buddy, Hamilton Baker, Daphne, AL; a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. His remains can be viewed at Christian Benevolent Funeral Home Sunday,June 11, 2006 from 12:00 until 4:00 p.m. and after 9:00 a.m. Monday, June 12, 2006 at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, Daphne, AL. Visitation will be from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. at which time the Pastor, Rev. David Harrison, Sr., will conduct the funeral service. Interment will follow in Macedonia Memorial Cemetery.
