Miles Barr Obituary

Miles R. "Jecky" Barr, 81, of Spring Glen, passed away Sunday at his residence.

He was born Aug. 1, 1934, in Spring Glen, a son of the late Robert A. and Dorothy Eby Barr.

He was a 1952 graduate of the former Hubley Township High School.

Jecky was a coal miner for Zimmerman Mining and Lucas Mining, prior to his retirement.

He was a member of Free Grace Brethren in Christ Church, Millersburg.

Jecky enjoyed playing bingo, going out to eat, going to camp and attending sales.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Gladys M. Barr, and by his second wife, Betty M. Barr.

He is survived by his wife, Arlene Barr.

He is also survived by three sons, Robert R. Barr and his wife, Delores, Sacramento, Ronald M. Barr, Williamstown, and Randall J. Barr and his companion, Sally Kissinger, Gratz; a daughter, Beverly A. Hoy and her companion, Mike Serucsak, Millersburg; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, with the Rev. Edwin Kessler officiating. A viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Interment will take place in St. Paul's Cemetery, Sacramento.
