In memory of

Millie was my "second mother". As a kid, I always enjoyed going to her home across the street, and later I did her hair every week. She was just a joy to be with and always had so much energy (except when she slept under the dryer). I remember all the pictures she would take and then share. When I was only in my twenties, she gave me a whistle for protection, and I still have it on my key chain. She was a blessing to so many, and we will cherish those times together. Thank goodness for wonderful memories. Praying for all the family.

Millie was a very gracious and friendly "sister". I remember when I was working wardrobe for a Lena High School class play we needed hats and suits for the girls from the forties. Millie offered her "wardrobe" for us to use. What fun it was when we went through her things together picking out outfits! She was a true blessing for many and will be dearly missed.

I had the pleasure of knowing both Millie and Doctor Vickery through scouting. Having the opportunity to work with Millie building the camp health lodge was an experience I will never forget. Nor will I ever forget her cooking. For years afterwards, it was always a pleasure to talk about her scouting family and listen to her talk about "Vic" and scouting. My thoughts and prayers are with all of Millie's family and friends.

To Millie's family. What wonderful memories I have of Millie living across the street when I was a kid. She was such an inspiration and always had a smile no matter what was going on. I hope it will be of comfort to know that her friends care and are sending you healing thoughts, love, and prayers. May you find peace from the many memories you shared. Mary Jean (Rampenthal) Uecker

Millie was a remarkable woman who always spoke from her heart. Personally, she was a champion for me in the early days of my career at the HCC Foundation and I will never forget all she did for me in my growth as a woman. Rest in Peace dear Millie.

To the family of Millie I was saddened to read of your mother's passing. I can remember many a day she would come into Steinman Bros. Grocery in Freeport and do her shopping. She had an infectious smile, a meticulous dresser, and a beautiful personality, and it was always a pleasure to see her. My sympathies, and thoughts and prayers go out to all of you. RIP Millie - you will remain a bright in my life.
