NEW BEDFORD — Milton Gershon, 85, of New Bedford, died Sunday, July 12, 2009. He was the beloved husband of Deena Gershon.

Mr. Gershon was in the Coast Guard during WWII. He was a member of Congregation Tifereth Israel and also of the Jewish War Veterans.

Besides his wife he is survived by his children, Susan Sandler and her husband, Eli, Lori Shuster and her husband, Bennett, and Michael Gershon and his wife. Lisa. He was the grandfather of Alexa, Jared, Zachary, Matthew, and Rachel; and the brother of Irving and the late Jack Gershon.

A graveside service will be held TODAY Tuesday, July 14th at 1 PM in Plainville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. Shiva will be observed at his late residence Tues.-Thurs. 4-8 PM and Fri. 2-4 PM.
